To validate the generalizability of the proposed framework, the study also includes a comparative analysis with the dance drama The Red Detachment of Women, highlighting differences in subject matter and expressive logic while affirming the universality of the proposed three-part model: content selection prThis study takes the Chinese contemporary dance drama Thunder and Rain as a case study to systematically examine the theoretical foundations, practical pathways, and cultural implications of adapting literary works into dance dramas. It explores the intrinsic differences between literature and dance drama in terms of media attributes, narrative structures, and audience reception, and identifies four key theoretical dimensions: media characteristics, narrative disparity, reception differences, and the potential linkage between the two mediums. At the practical level, this research analyzes the adaptation strategies employed in Thunder and Rain, focusing on three aspects: content selection, character reconstruction, and structural innovation. Centering on the character Fan Yi, the dance drama adopts a six-act non-linear structure that uses physical movement to convey psychological inciples, strategies for character centralization, and structural reconstruction of dance narrative. The paper further reflects on the challenges and limitations inherent in such adaptations, such as the tension between artistic condensation and literary depth, the ambiguity of physical language, and the interpretive demands of non-linear storytelling. It argues that adaptation is not a simple retelling, but a creative transformation across media, meaning systems, and cultural contexts. Ultimately, the study underscores the role of literary adaptation into dance drama in fostering cross-media dissemination of Chinese literature and promoting intercultural communication, especially between China and Korea. It offers valuable insight for future research and regional artistic collaboration in East Asia.

본 연구는 중국 현대 무용극 ⟪천둥과 비⟫를 사례로 하여, 문학 작품이 무용극으로 개편되는 과정을 이론적 토대, 실천 경로, 문화적 가치의 세 가지 측면에서 종합적으로 고찰한다. 문학과 무용극의 매체 속성, 서사 구조, 수용 방식의 본질적 차이를 분석하고, ‘매체의 유사점과 차이점’, ‘서사 구조의 차이’, ‘수용 방식의 차이’, ‘문학과 무용극의 연결점’ 등 네 가지 이론적 차원을 도출함으로써 개편 실천의 이론적 기반을 마련하였고, 이를 통해 변용 실천에 대한 방법론적 지지를 제공하였다. 실천 분석 부분에서는 본문과 영상자료의 교차 해석을 통하여 무용극 ⟪천둥과 비⟫의 세 가지 측면인 내용 선택, 인물 재구성, 구조 재편 측면에서 취한 전략과 경로를 상세히 분석하였다. 본 무용극은 ‘번이(繁漪)’를 감정의 중심으로 하여 감정적 서사와 6막 비선형 구조의 무대 연출을 통해 심리적 갈등과 윤리적 딜레마를 강화한 점은 무용극 언어의 표현 잠재력을 보여주는 대표적 사례로 평가된다. 또한 무용극⟪혁명 낭자군⟫을 비교 대상으로 삼아, 소재와 서사 방향이 상이한 작품 간의 변용 방식을 비교하였으며, 본 논문이 제시한 “내용 선택–핵심 인물–구조 재구성”의 삼중 경로를 제시하였다. 더불어 본 연구는 개편 과정에서 발생하는 제약과 한계—서사의 압축으로 인한 비판성 약화, 신체 언어의 모호성, 비선형 구조가 초래하는 이해의 어려움 등—을 반영하고, 문학의 무용극화는 단순한 재현이 아닌 창조적 재구성임을 강조한다. 나아가 중국 문학의 현대적 확산과 동아시아 문화 교류의 맥락 속에서 무용극 개편은 한중 양국 간 예술적 소통의 가능성을 제시하며, 후속 연구와 실천에 이론적 기여를 할 수 있을 것이다.

本研究以中国现代舞剧《雷和雨》为个案, 围绕文学作品向舞剧改编的过程, 从理论基 础、实践路径与文化价值三个层面进行系统探讨。研究聚焦于文学与舞剧在媒介属性、叙 事逻辑及接受机制等方面的本质差异, 梳理出“媒介异同”、“叙事结构差异”、“接受方式 差异”与“文学与舞剧的联通点”四个关键理论维度, 为改编实践提供方法论支撑。 在实践分析部分, 本文通过文本与影像资料的交叉解读, 详细剖析了舞剧《雷和雨》在 内容选取、人物重塑与结构重构三方面的策略与路径。舞剧以繁漪为情感核心, 采取六 幕式非线性结构, 以肢体语言强化人物心理冲突与伦理困境的表达, 展现了舞剧艺术在处 理复杂文学主题时的表现潜力。为进一步验证路径的通用性, 本文引入舞剧《红色娘子 军》进行横向参照, 比较不同题材与叙述取向下的改编模式, 从而提出“内容选取原则—核 心人物塑造—舞剧结构重构”三重路径。 此外, 论文亦关注舞剧改编实践中的现实问题与表达限度, 如结构压缩所导致的批判性 弱化、肢体语言的语义模糊性及非线性叙事对观众理解的挑战等, 强调改编是一种跨媒 介、跨逻辑、跨文化的创造性重构, 而非简单的复述或还原。 最后, 本文从跨文化传播的角度评估文学改编舞剧的深层价值。舞剧作为非语言的综 合舞台艺术, 其高度的象征性与形象性赋予其超越语言障碍的传播能力。通过肢体、空 间、音乐与视觉图像的交互建构, 文学改编舞剧不仅为中国文学的现代传播提供了有效通 道, 也促进了中国精神的国际化表达。特别是在中韩两国文学与舞剧交流日益密切的语 境下, 该研究有助于构建东亚文化互动的新路径, 为区域艺术发展与文化互鉴提供理论参 考与实践案例。
