The author studied the Samson birth episode in the Samson narrative through three homiletical moves of exegesis, principlization. and sermon. First, in the exegesis stage, the method of narrative literary criticism is mobilized to grasp the exact meaning of the biblical text. Second, in the principlization stage, the spiritual lesson is derived from the already secured exegetical meaning. In this stage, the human-centered approach such as exemplary and moralizing is avoided and the perspective of “the whole Bible” (Tota Scriptura) and redemptive-historical interpretation is approached. Third, in the sermon stage, the principled message derived as a spiritual lesson is delivered to today’s audience as an applicationoriented message through re-contextualization. The Samson birth episode teaches the believer, who is in a completely fallen state, the grace of God’s unconditional election before the creation of the world. Through the three-stage homiletical moves of the Samson birth episode, it will be possible to derive a sermon message that proclaims the contradictory behavior of believers who live in unbelief while being believers and the absolute sovereign grace of God that covers it.

필자는‘주해, 원리화, 설교’라는 3단계 설교학적 이동을 통해서 삼 손 내러티브 가운데 출생 에피소드를 연구했다. 첫 번째, 주해단계에서 는 성경 본문의 정확한 의미를 파악하기 위하여 내러티브 문학비평의 방법을 동원한다. 두 번째, 원리화 단계는 이미 확보된 주해적 의미로 부터 영적 교훈을 도출하는 과정으로 이 단계에서는 모범화, 도덕화 등 인간 중심적인 접근을 피하고“전체 성경”(Tota Scriptura)의 시각과 구속사적인 해석으로 접근한다. 세 번째, 설교의 단계는 영적 교훈으로 도출된 원리화 메시지를 재상황화를 통해 오늘날 청중에게 적용지향적 인 메시지로 전달한다. 삼손 출생 에피소드는 전적으로 타락한 상태에 있는 신자에게 창세 전 하나님의 무조건적 선택의 은혜를 가르쳐준다. 삼손 출생 에피소드 의 3단계 설교학적 이동을 통해서 신자이면서도 불신앙적으로 살아가 는 신자들의 모순적인 행동과 이를 덮고 있는 하나님의 절대주권적인 은혜를 선포하는 설교 메시지를 도출할 수 있을 것이다.
