This study aims to construct a semantic data archive based on Punggyegip (風溪集), the collected works of the 17th-century Buddhist monk Pungye Myeongchal (風溪明察), and to structurally examine the literary and social networks embedded in Buddhist poetry of the Joseon Dynasty. While the collected works of Buddhist monks resemble those of Confucian scholar-officials in format, they also convey a distinctive texture shaped by experiences of temple life, spiritual cultivation, and Buddhist thought. Nevertheless, poems written by monks have often been interpreted merely as expressions of Zen thinking or as evidence of interactions with Confucian literati, with insufficient attention paid to their concrete creative contexts and backgrounds. In response, this study proposes the construction of a semantic data archive as a new methodological approach to interpreting Buddhist poetry, using Punggyegip as a case study to explore its applicability and scholarly significance. Focusing on patterns of classical allusion (典故) and intertextual borrowing (借用) within the poems, an ontology was developed to trace the external textual relationships embedded in the works. The data was structured and visualized using a Neo4j-based graph database, allowing for the exploration of the structural characteristics of both the collection as a whole and its poetic content. By visualizing intertextual references and linking them to their source texts, this study suggests a framework for reinterpreting Buddhist poetry not as isolated texts but as elements within relational and contextual networks. This initial attempt lays the groundwork for expanding the archive to encompass a broader range of monastic collections, thereby enhancing the archive’s applicability and enabling more in-depth, multifaceted analyses of Buddhist poetry.

본 연구는 17세기 승려 풍계 명찰(風溪明察)의 문집 『풍계집(風溪集)』을 대상으로 시 맨틱 데이터 아카이브를 구축하고, 이를 통해 조선시대 승려 한시의 문헌적·사회적 관계 망을 구조적으로 조망하고자 하였다. 승려문집은 사대부 문집과 유사한 형식을 취하면서 도 사찰, 수행, 불교적 사유 등 고유한 경험이 반영된 독특한 질감을 지닌다. 그러나 지금 까지 승려 한시는 주로 선적 사유의 표현이나 유가 문인과의 교유를 증명하는 자료로 해 석되었으며, 작품이 창작된 구체적 맥락과 배경은 상대적으로 간과되어 왔다. 이에 본 연 구는 승려문집, 그 가운데서도 승려의 한시를 이해하기 위한 새로운 연구 방법론으로 시 맨틱 데이터 아카이브 구축을 제안하고, 『풍계집』을 사례로 삼아 그 적용 가능성과 유의미성을 검토하였다. 구체적으로는 『풍계집』에 수록된 한시에서 전고와 차용의 양상에 주 목하여, 승려 한시가 맺고 있는 외적 문헌의 맥락과 의미 관계를 탐구할 수 있는 온톨로 지를 설계하고, 이를 Neo4j 기반 그래프 데이터베이스로 구축하였다. 이를 통해 승려문 집과 여기에 수록된 한시의 구조적 특성을 시각화하고 탐색할 수 있는 기반을 마련하였 다. 특히 전고와 차용의 사례를 출전 문헌과 연결해 시각화함으로써, 승려 한시를 고립된 텍스트가 아닌 관계적, 맥락적 구조 속에서 재해석할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다. 향후 연구 대상을 승려문집 전반으로 확장하여 아카이브의 범용성과 분석의 심도를 높이고, 승려 한시를 다각도에서 조망하는 토대를 마련하고자 한다.
