This study examines the impact of marital conflict on gambling addiction, focusing on the mediating role of depression and the moderating effect of acceptance of differences in this relationship. Based on previous research suggesting that marital conflict increases psychological distress, which may lead to maladaptive coping behaviors such as gambling addiction, this study aims to determine whether depression serves as a mediator in this process and whether acceptance of differences functions as a protective factor that buffers the negative effects of marital conflict on depression and gambling addiction. A survey was conducted with 1,200 adult participants, assessing their levels of marital conflict, depression, gambling addiction, and acceptance of differences. Hayes' PROCESS Model 8 was employed to test the mediating effect of depression in the relationship between marital conflict and gambling addiction, as well as the moderated mediation effect of acceptance of differences. The findings indicate that marital conflict directly influences gambling addiction and also indirectly contributes to gambling addiction through increased depression. Moreover, acceptance of differences significantly moderates the relationship between marital conflict and depression, reducing the negative psychological impact of marital conflict. Additionally, when acceptance of differences is high, the direct effect of marital conflict on gambling addiction is significantly weakened.

본 연구는 부부갈등이 도박중독에 미치는 영향을 설명하는 과정에서 우울의 매개효과를 검증하 고 다름에 대한 수용이 이러한 경로를 조절하는지를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 부부갈등이 도박문제를 유발하는 심리적 기제를 이해하고 보호요인으로서의 다름에 대한 수용의 역할을 규명하고자 하였 다. 이를 위해 총 1,200명의 기혼 성인을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 부부갈등, 우울, 도박 중독, 다름에 대한 수용 수준을 측정하였다. 분석에는 Hayes의 process 8 모형을 적용하여 부부갈 등과 도박 간의 관계에서 우울의 매개효과를 검증하고 정서적 수용이 갈등과 우울의 관계 및 갈등 과 도박의 관계를 조절하는지 검토하였다. 분석결과 부부갈등은 도박중독에 직접적인 영향을 미치 며 우울을 통해 간접적으로 도박중독 문제를 유발하는 매개 효과가 확인되었다. 또한 다름에 대한 수용이 부부갈등과 우울의 관계에서 조절 요인으로 작용하며 수용 수준이 높을수록 부부갈등이 우 울에 미치는 영향이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 더 나아가 수용 수준이 높은 경우 부부갈등이 도박 중독에 미치는 직접적인 영향도 약해지는 조절효과가 확인되었다.
