This paper clarifies the changes in self-identity and their meaning caused by the digital virtual world, focusing on the metaverse. First, it examines the definition and current status of the metaverse, and then clarifies the traditional understanding and technical conditions of self-identity. Then, it reveals that the metaverse strengthens the embodied, extended, and distributed self of the extended real world rather than the disembodied multiple identity, and further contributes to transforming the human self, which is privileged as a personal individual, into a posthuman self as an informational dividual based on a human-nonhuman network. In conclusion, it argues that in order to strengthen the existential capacity of such a posthuman self, it is essential to have care and techne (skill) for nonhuman entities in relationships in the digital network.

이 논문은 메타버스를 중심으로 디지털 가상세계가 야기하는 자아정체성의 변화와 그 의미를 해명한다. 먼저, 메타버스 의 정의와 현황을 살펴보고, 자아정체성의 전통적 이해와 기술적 조건을 해명한 다음, 메타버스는 탈신체화된 다중정체성보다 확장된 현실세계의 체화되고 확장되고 분산된 자아성을 강화하고 나아가 인격적 개체로 특권화된 휴먼 자아를 인간-비인간 네 트워크에 기반한 정보적 가분체의 포스트휴먼 자아로 변환하는데 기여함을 밝힌다. 결론적으로 이러한 포스트휴먼 자아의 존재 역량을 강화하기 위해서는 디지털 네트워크에서 관계 맺고 있는 비인간 존재자들에 대한 돌봄과 테크네(기예)를 갖추는 것이 필수적임을 논증한다.
