This study aims to overcome the limitations of modern church education and enhance the effectiveness of catechetical education in elementary church schools by designing and developing a GPTs-based AI chatbot. Catechetical education plays a critical role in building the foundation of faith, sustaining spiritual life, and fostering spiritual maturity. However, systematic catechetical education is often challenging in elementary church schools due to limited time and resources. To address this issue, this study seeks to utilize AI chatbots to provide personalized learning experiences and interactive support. The research structured reference data based on conservative theological textbooks and systematic theology resources, implementing a prototype chatbot using the GPTs Builder platform. The design principles applied include age-appropriate content delivery, faith-level-specific content, real-life application guidelines, user-friendly responses, immediate feedback, and iterative learning and evaluation. The prototype was validated for feasibility and practicality through various scenario-based tests. The results demonstrate that the chatbot effectively aligns with the developmental stages and faith-related needs of elementary learners. The prototype also highlights the potential for digitizing catechetical education. In conclusion, this study confirms that GPTs-based AI chatbots can serve as innovative tools for catechetical education and suggests that further demonstrations and evaluations across various age groups and educational settings could contribute to the qualitative advancement of church school education.

연구 목적 : 본 연구는 현대 교회교육의 한계를 극복하고, 교회학교 교리교육의 효과성을 향상시키기 위해 GPTs 기반 AI 챗봇을 설계하고 프로토타입을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 교리교육은 신앙의 기초를 다지고 신앙생활을 지속하며 성숙하게 하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 그러나 교회학교에서는 제한된 시간과 자원으로 인해 체계적인 교리교육이 어려운 상황이다. 이에 본 연구는 AI 챗봇을 활용하여 개인화된 학습 경험과 상호작용을 제공함으로써 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 한다. 연구 내용 및 방법 : 연구는 보수 신학 교재와 조직신학 자료를 바탕으로 레퍼런스 데이터를 구성하였으며, GPTs Builder를 활용하여 챗봇 프로토타입을 구현하였다. 설계 과정에서는 연령별 자료 제시, 신앙 수준에 따른 콘텐츠 구성, 실생활 적용 방안 제시, 사용자 친화적 응답, 즉각적 피드백 제공, 반복 학습 및 평가 등의 원리를 적용하였다. 프로토타입은 다양한 시나리오 테스트를 통해 타당성과 실용성을 검증하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 연구 결과, 교회학교 학습자의 발달 단계와 신앙적 필요에 부합하는 챗봇 설계 원리가 효과적으로 구현되었으며, 프로토타입 챗봇은 교리교육의 디지털화 가능성을 보여주었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 GPTs 기반 AI 챗봇이 교리교육의 새로운 도구로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하며, 향후 다양한 연령대와 교육 환경에서의 추가적인 시연과 평가를 통해 교회학교 교육의 질적 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
