This study aimed to analyze the research trends of psychological-based interventions for individuals with Borderline Intellectual Functioning (BIF) in South Korea through a systematic review, providing future directions for related research as an essential data. A total of 181 peer-reviewed journal articles and dissertations on psychology-based interventions, published domestically from 2000 to December 2024, were collected through a database search. Based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, 31 studies were selected. An analytic framework was established based on previous research, focusing on research trends and characteristics of psychological-based interventions. Results indicated that psychological-based intervention research has steadily increased since the early 2000s. Interventions were conducted across various fields including art therapy, music therapy, movement/dance therapy, and play therapy, with art therapy being the most prevalent. Elementary school students constituted the largest target population, and interventions primarily focused on emotional and social developmental domains. The findings suggest that more multifaceted research is needed to enhance psychological and emotional support for individuals with Borderline Intellectual Functioning. This study provides significant implications for the development and implementation of psychological-based intervention programs and contributes to establishing practical and policy-oriented support measures to improve the psycho･social adaptation and quality of life for individuals with Borderline Intellectual Functioning.

본 연구는 경계선 지능인을 대상으로 한 국내 심리기반 중재의 연구동향을 체계적 문헌고찰 을 통해 분석하여 관련 연구의 기초자료로써 방향성을 제시하고자 한다. 2000년부터 2024년 12 월까지 국내에서 출판된 심리기반 중재 연구에서 논문 데이터베이스 검색을 통해 산출된 181 편의 등재 학술지와 학위논문을 수집하여 포함 및 배제준거에 따라 총 31편을 선정하였다. 선 행연구를 참고하여 연구동향과 심리기반 중재 연구의 특성을 중심으로 분석틀을 설정하였다. 연구 분석 결과 심리기반 중재 연구는 2000년 초반부터 시작되어 꾸준히 증가하는 추세를 보 였으며, 중재는 미술치료, 음악치료, 동작･무용치료, 놀이치료와 같은 다양한 분야에서 이루어 지고 있었고 중재 유형별로는 미술치료가 가장 많았다. 연구 대상은 초등학생이 가장 많았으 며, 주로 정서･사회성 영역을 목표로 한 중재가 이루어졌다. 향후 경계선 지능인을 위한 심리･ 정서적 지원을 강화하기 위해 보다 다각적인 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구는 심리기반 중재 프로 그램 개발 및 적용에 있어 중요한 시사점을 제공하며, 경계선 지능인의 심리･사회적 적응과 삶 의 질 향상을 위한 실천적･정책적 지원 방안 마련에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
