This study seeks to explore cooperation in addressing the challenges of the present era through a dialogue between the thoughts of Russian thinker Mikhail Bakhtin and Christian intercultural theology. Theology is not an isolated discipline but a practice of serving humanity and ecology. This aligns with the nature of God, which forms the foundation of Christian theology, and with the relational centrality of the Trinity, which defines God's mode of existence. Mikhail Bakhtin, responding to the turbulent times of the 20th century, proposed a communal identity based on dialogism and unity through polyphony. His ideas reflected a longing for coexistence not only among nations and peoples but also between humanity and ecological diversity. In an era characterized by multiculturalism and rapid transformation, Bakhtin’s thought finds a profound connection with intercultural theology. The methodology of this study focuses on a literature review of Bakhtin’s work and a theological discussion that actively engages with the contemporary context. It interprets Bakhtin’s philosophy from the perspective of Christian theology and presents an intercultural theological paradigm to address the clashes of our century, the disharmony with nature, and the ongoing division of the Korean Peninsula, which has lasted for more than 80 years. At the core of Bakhtin’s principles of polyphony and dialogism lie communalism and unity. Humanity and the natural ecosystem should form an inseparable life community, making peaceful coexistence through dialogue and polyphonic harmony. In the rapidly changing European society of his time, Bakhtin advocated for a unity embracing linguistic and cultural diversity in harmony. His vision of coexistence through dialogue and peace serves as a vital reference point for contemporary issues, including the division of the Korean Peninsula, ecological concerns, and the challenges of an increasingly multicultural and diverse world, by highlighting the necessity of intercultural theology today.

연구는 러시아의 미하일 바흐찐(Mikhail M. Bakhtin)의 다성성에 기초한 대화주 의 사상과 기독교의 상호문화신학의 대화를 통하여 현 시대가 당면한 과제들에 대한 공조(共助)를 모색한다. 인문학은 인류에 호소하고 신학은 인문학과 대화한다. 기독교 신학인 신의 속성과 신 존재의 양식인 삼위일체의 관계중심성에 기초한다면 신학이란 과문고립(寡聞孤⽴)의 학문이 아니라 인류와 생태를 섬기는 작업이다. 바흐찐은 20세 기 격동의 시대를 향해 다성성(Polyphony)을 통한 통일성과 대화주의에 기초한 공동 체성을 제시함으로써, 다문화·다변화라는 말로 대별되는 대한민국 21세기 상황에 관계 성과 상호공존, 평화적 문화창발이라는 상호문화신학적 해석학에 기여한다. 본 논문의 연구 방법은 바흐찐에 대한 문헌연구와 시대와 상황에 참여하는 신학으로서의 논의에 중점을 두었다. 미하일 바흐찐의 사상을 기독교 신학의 관점에서 해석하고, 금세기 다 문화·다변화 시대로서 당면하는 충돌들, 생태계와의 불협화음, 그리고 80년을 넘어서 는 한반도 분단의 문제를 상호문화신학적 패러다임으로의 통합적 지향점을 제시하였 다. 미하일 바흐찐이 주장한 다성성과 대화주의의 근간에는 공동체성과 통일성이 함축 되어 있다. 그는 19세기와 20세기 격동의 시대에 급변하는 유럽 사회에서 이질 언어와 다양한 문화들이 상호공존하는 화음으로의 통일성을 주창하였다. 또한 상호다양성의 공존과 평화를 통한 공동체성과 통일성은 오늘 한반도 분쟁과 생태, 다문화·다변화라는 극변의 상황을 향한 상호문화신학의 필요성을 시사해준다.
