In this thesis, various images like blood, flower, bone, and lemon shown in Kim Yeo-Jung’s early poems could be understood as alchemic symbols, and such images form a perfect being after getting out of the poet’s solitude and loneliness. This whole process is in line with the process of alchemy. n Kim Yeo-Jung’s early poems, the blood means death and regeneration. In 「Incident 1」, there is an expression ‘It completely made my blood frozen’. The frozen blood means the state of death. In Kim Yeo-Jung’s early poems, however, the blood also includes the meaning of regeneration in the meaning of death. For example, in 「Pruning」, there is content of making ten fingers bleed for saving a dying tree. In this poem, the blood shows the meaning of regeneration. In the purpose of alchemy, a life comes out of death to make gold. The bone shown from the regeneration of blood shows the appearance of being. In this aspect, the poet gets a stable being after slowly getting out of loneliness and solitude through the death and regeneration of blood in her early poems. n Kim Yeo-Jung’s early poems, the flower has the image of flame meaning verticality. The verticality makes the transcendence of time, and aims to be sublimed to a Silla woman who tolerates everything. When making gold in alchemy, it aims to guarantee eternal life. The Silla woman shown in the early poems, is not only a spiritual being, but also an eternal object. In the transcendence of time, the poet longs for a perfect being by pursuing the Silla woman. n Kim Yeo-Jung’s early poems, there is ‘golden lemon’ which is because a lemon is made of ‘sunlight and light’. Here, the golden lemon has integrity just like gold, and also includes a psychological part. The golden lemon provides a chance to look into the poet’s inner side. Through this lemon, the poet can live a life in any kind of situation. This also longs for a perfect being. And through the lemon, the poet faces the beard of iron man who aims for the integration by eliminating darkness and tearing down all the boundaries. Through the lemon and iron man, the poet forms a perfect being after getting out of every loneliness and solitude.

이 논문은 김여정 초기시에 나타난 피, 꽃, 뼈, 레몬 등 다양한 이미지들을 연금술적 상징으로 해석한 것이다. 시인은 이런 이미지들을 고독과 외로움에서 벗어나 완전한 존재로 구현하였다. 이 모든 시상의 전개는 연금술의 과정과 상통한다. 초기시에서 피는 죽음과 재생을 나타낸다. 「사건 1」에서 ‘내 피를 시퍼렇게 얼게 했다’는 표현이 나온다. 이때 피가 얼었다는 것은 죽음의 상태를 의미한다. 하지만 김여정 초기시에서 피는 죽음의 의미에서 재생의 의미까지 포함된다. 예를 들어, 「전지」에서 죽어가는 나무를 살리기 위해 열 손가락 마디의 피를 흘리는 내용이 있다. 이 시에서 피는 재생의 의미를 보여준다. 연금술의 목적은 금을 만들기 위해서 영생을 보장하는 것이다. 또한 피의 재생으로 나타난 뼈는 존재의 출현을 보여준다. 이런 점에서 볼 때 시인은 초기시에서 피의 죽음과 재생을 통해 외로움과 고독에서 점차 벗어나게 되며 안정적인 존재를 추구하게 된다. 초기시에서 꽃은 불꽃 이미지를 지니며 수직성을 나타낸다. 이때 수직성은 시간의 초월성을 만들며 시인은 이런 시간 속에서 모든 것을 포용하는 신라 여인과 마주하게 된다. 연금술에서 금을 만들 때 영생을 보장하는 것을 목적으로 삼는데, 신라 여인은 영적인 존재이자 영원한 대상이 된다. 시인은 시간의 초월성 속에서 신라 여인을 추구하며 완전한 존재를 열망한다. 초기시에 나오는 ‘금빛 레몬’은 ‘태양빛과 불빛’으로 만들어졌다. 여기서 금빛 레몬은 금처럼 완전성을 지니며, 정신적인 부분도 담겨 있다. 금빛 레몬은 시인의 내면을 살펴보는 계기가 되며 시인은 레몬을 통해 어떠한 상황 속에서도 살아가는 힘을 얻는다. 이는 완전한 존재를 바라는 것이기도 하다. 또한 시인은 레몬을 통해 철인의 수염을 마주하게 되며 이때 철인은 어둠을 몰아가게 하여 모든 경계를 허물어 통합을 지향한다. 시인은 레몬과 철인을 통해 모든 외로움과 고독에서 벗어나 완전한 존재를 구현한다.
