This study examines the structural relationships among youth institution-usage difficulties, metaverse interest, and perceived assistance based on the presence or absence of metaverse-usage experience among middle-school students. To achieve this, this study utilized data from the "Study on the Development of an Innovative Youth Policy Model Using the Metaverse," a cross-sectional survey presented in the data archive of the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI). A multi-group analysis was conducted on a sample of 840 middle-school students using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 20.0. The study's key findings are as follows: First, all research variables exhibited positive correlations. Second, metaverse interest partially mediated the relationship between youth institution-usage difficulties and perceived assistance in the metaverse. Third, the multi-group analysis based on metaverse-usage experience revealed that middle-school students with metaverse experience exhibited a stronger influence of metaverse interest on perceived assistance in the metaverse. This study’s results indicate that middle-school students who engage with the metaverse believe that their interest in this digital space enhances various aspects of their daily lives, including learning, communication, interaction, and information retrieval. This study has implications for developers of metaverse programs regarding youth participation and engagement in the metaverse. Based on the findings, it is recommended that virtual-learning environments be established in youth facilities.

본 연구는 중학생의 메타버스 이용 경험 유무에 따른 청소년기관 이용 어려움과 메타버스 관심도 및 도 움 인식 간의 구조적 관계를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원 데이터 아카이브에 제시 된 횡단 조사 중 ‘메타버스를 활용한 청소년정책 혁신모델 구축방안 연구’에서 활동한 데이터를 활용하였다. SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 20.0을 사용하여 중학생 840명 대상으로 다집단으로 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 첫째, 모든 연구 변인들 간 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, ‘청소년기관 이용 어려움’이 ‘메타버스 도움 인식’에 영향을 주는 과정 에서 ‘메타버스 관심도’가 부분 매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 메타버스 이용 경험 유무에 따른 다집단 결과, 메타버스 이용 경험이 있는 중학생이 ‘메타버스 관심도’가 ‘메타버스 도움 인식’에 영향을 주는 과정에서 더 많은 영향력을 주고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과는 메타버스를 이용한 한국 중학생은 메타버스에 대한 관심도가 메 타버스에서의 학습, 소통과 교류, 정보 검색 등 일상생활에 도움이 된다고 인식하는 만큼 학교현장과 연계하여 이 를 활성화 할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다.
