The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of possession of crime tools, including the use of crime tools and obtaining methods of crime tools for major crimes such as murder, robbery, rape/molestation, theft, and violent crimes from 2011 to 2022. To this end, exploratory research centered on descriptive statistics, a quantitative study, was conducted. The specific research results are as follows. First, the change in the use of crime tools(possession) showed that the overall major crime decreased, murder crime decreased, robbery crime decreased, rape/molestation crime decreased, theft crime decreased, and violent crime decreased. Second, the change in the proportion of criminal tool use(possession) showed that the overall major crime decreased, murder crime decreased, robbery crime increased, rape/molestation crime decreased, theft decreased, and violent crime increased. Third, the change in the method of obtaining crime tools(possession) showed that violent crimes have increased in the past, such as previous possession, purchase, rental, and use of victim's tools. Fourth, the change in the proportion of the method of obtaining crime tools(possession) showed that overall major crime increased from previous use, use of victim's tools., murder crime increased from previous possession, purchase, robbery crime increased from previous possession, rental, and use of victim's tools., rape/molestation crime increased from previous possession, purchase, rental, and use of the victim's tools., etc.

본 연구는 2011년부터 2022년까지 살인범죄, 강도범죄, 강간⋅강제추행범죄, 절도범죄, 폭력범죄 등 주요범죄의 범행도구 사용현황, 범행도구 입수방법 등 범행도구 소지 실태를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 양적연구인 기술통계 중심의 탐색적 연구를 실시 하였다. 구체적인 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 범행도구 사용현황 증감 변화(소지)는 주 요범죄 전체는 감소하였으며, 살인범죄는 감소, 강도범죄는 감소, 강간⋅강제추행범죄는 감소, 절도범죄는 감소, 폭력범죄는 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 범행도구 사용현황 비 중 변화(소지)는 주요범죄 전체는 감소하였으며, 살인범죄는 감소, 강도범죄는 증가, 강간 ⋅강제추행범죄는 감소, 절도범죄는 감소, 폭력범죄는 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 범행 도구 입수방법 증감 변화(소지)는 폭력범죄가 종전부터 소지, 매입, 대여받음, 피해자것 사 용 등이 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 범행도구 입수방법 비중 변화(소지)는 주요범죄 전체는 종전부터 사용, 피해자것 사용, 살인범죄는 종전부터 소지, 매입, 강도범죄는 종전 부터 소지, 대여받음, 피해자것 사용, 강간⋅강제추행범죄는 절취, 기타, 폭력범죄는 종전 부터 소지, 매입, 대여받음, 피해자것 사용 등이 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 범행도구 사용 및 입수와 관련하여 범행도구 관리체계 확립, 총포⋅도검⋅화약류 등의 안전관리에 관한 법령의 엄정한 집행, 공안기관의 범행도구에 대한 이해와 대처능력 제고 등 범죄대응, 범죄 예방 등 범죄정책 수립이 필요하다.
