Due to the declining school-age population and the government's internationalization policies, universities are increasingly competing to attract international students. In this context, S University in the Chungnam region is facing various operational challenges due to the decrease in the number of international students. Accordingly, redesigning the strategy for attracting international students and improving educational and administrative services have emerged as important tasks. This study aims to support international students' adaptation to classes and propose effective support programs and operational strategies that align with the university's evolving internationalization strategy. To achieve this, a face-to-face survey was conducted with undergraduate students to understand the academic experiences and needs of international students. The survey consisted of 30 questions covering various aspects of university life, including class methods, major and general education courses, international student-specific general education courses, study life, administrative services, support programs, and university facilities. In conclusion, this study highlights the need for tailored support to improve international students' Korean language skills, providing opportunities for community service and extracurricular activities, expanding international student-specific courses on topics such as modern Korean society, and trends, expanding scholarship systems, establishing employment support programs, and improving campus facility accessibility. The study aims to contribute to proposing practical and innovative support policies and educational programs to promote the internationalization of the university.

학령인구 감소와 정부의 국제화 정책에 따라 대학들이 경쟁적으로 외국인 유학생을 유치하는 가운데, 충남권 S대학교는 유학생수 감소로 대학 운영에 여러 가 지 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 따라 유학생 유치 전략을 재설계하고 교육 및 행정 서비스를 개선하는 것이 중요한 과제로 떠오르고 있다. 본 연구는 유학생들이 직면 한 학업과 생활 전반의 문제점을 파악하고 이를 개선하기 위한 유학생 지원 및 운영 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 학부 재학생을 대상으로 대면 상담 및 설문 을 진행하였고, 유학생들의 학업 경험과 인식을 파악하고자 하였다. 설문은 총 30문항으로 구성되었으며, 수업 방식, 전공 및 교양 수업, 유학생 전용 교과목, 유학 생활, 행정 서비스, 지원 프로그램, 대학 시설 등 학사 전반에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 유학생들의 한국어 능력 향상을 위한 맞춤형 지원, 사회봉사 및 비교과 활동 참여 기회 제공, 한국 현대사회와 트렌드 등을 다룬 유학생 전용 수업 및 장학 제도 확대, 취업 지원 프로그램 개선, 캠퍼스 시설 접근성 강화 등의 필요성을 제시하며, 대학의 국제화 활성화를 위한 실질적인 지원 정책과 운영 프로그램을 개선하는 데 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.
