This study aims to emphasize the importance of establishing a system for identifying and supporting highly gifted students in mathematics, as highlighted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Education, in response to the increasing demand for creative and problem-solving talents. The primary objective was to develop a behavioral scale for the early identification and support of highly gifted students in mathematics. To achieve this, a three-round Delphi survey was conducted, gathering the opinions of mathematics and mathematics education experts, as well as experienced field educators, to validate the scale’s content validity. The participants consisted of 40 experts and teachers with over five years of research and teaching experience, including experience in gifted education. As a result of the Delphi survey, the content validity of the behavioral competencies and the individual items in each domain was verified, leading to the finalization of a behavioral scale comprising 62 items across five domains. Each item was confirmed to consistently measure the behavioral characteristics of highly gifted students in mathematics, demonstrating its suitability as a tool for identifying and evaluating such students. In conclusion, the behavioral scale developed in this study is a reliable and valid instrument that can effectively contribute to the early identification and educational support of highly gifted students in mathematics.

본 연구는 창의적이고 문제 해결 능력을 겸비한 인재에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따 라 과학기술정보통신부와 교육부의 고도영재 발굴 및 지원 체계 구축의 중요성을 강조하고, 수학 분야의 고도영재를 조기에 발굴하고 지원할 수 있는 행동 척도를 개발하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 3차에 걸친 델파이 조사를 실시하여 수 학 및 수학교육 전문가, 현장 교육 전문가들의 의견을 수렴하고 척도의 타당성을 검증하였다. 연구 대상은 5년 이상의 연구 및 교육경력을 보유한 전문가와 영재교 육 경험을 가진 교사 40명으로 구성되었다. 델파이 조사 결과, 수학 고도영재의 행 동 특성 역량 및 각 영역별 문항의 타당도가 검증되었으며, 최종적으로 5개 영역 62문항으로 구성된 행동 척도가 확정되었다. 각 문항은 수학 고도영재의 행동 특성 을 일관되게 측정하는 것으로 확인되었으며, 이를 통해 수학 고도영재를 발굴하고 판별하는 데 적합한 도구임이 입증되었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 개발된 수학 고도영재 행동 척도는 신뢰성과 타당성을 갖춘 체계적인 도구로, 수학 고도영재의 조기 발굴과 교육 지원에 효과적으로 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
