This study aims to analyze the music content presented in the integrated subject textbooks for first and second graders under the 2022 revised curriculum, thereby identifying the current status and characteristics of music content and activities learned through integrated subjects. To achieve this, we systematically examined the structure of lessons, music activities, repertoire, and recommended songs in the first-semester textbooks and teacher’s guides of the integrated subject for first and second grade. After expert review, findings and implications were presented. First, among the 154 thematic lesson units in the identity and spatiality domains of integrated subjects, only 32 included music-related lessons. This proportion further decreases when including play and safety lesson units. The primary music activities involved reading and understanding lyrics, listening and singing along, singing in different lyrics, expressing through body movement, playing, clapping rhythm, and playing jangdan with singing-based activities being the most prevalent. Second, the repertoire in the integrated subject textbooks was categorized into Korean music, Western music, and global folk songs, with children’s songs being the most common. Korean folk songs and traditional children's songs frequently employed the Korean melodic styles of Menaritori and Yukjabaegitori, along with Jajinmori jangdan. Western music and global folk songs primarily featured C major and F major compositions with 4/4 times signatures being the most common. The length of the repertoire increased in the second grade compared to the first grade, and notation was mainly presented in lyrics-based formats, progressing to melodic contour notation, before staff notation being first introduced in the second grade. Third, music content linked to Bareun Saenghwal, Seulgiroun Saenghwal, and Jeulgeoun Saenghwal(Art and Physical Education) was limited to recommended songs in the teacher’s guides, showing weak practical integration with music activities. This study analyzed the music content within the integrated curriculum for the first semester of first and second grade elementary education. By examining its current status and characteristics, this study suggests the need for expanding music lesson allocation in future integrated curricula, providing diverse musical experiences suitable for first and second graders, and discussing the hierarchical progression of music content and activities in the third and fourth.

본 연구는 2022 개정 교육과정에 따른 초등학교 1, 2학년 통합교과 교과용 도서에 제시된 음악 내용을 분석함으로써 통합교과를 통해 학습되는 음악 내용과 활동의 현황 및 특징을 파악하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 1, 2학년 1학기 통합교과 교과서 및 지도서를 대상으 로 수업 구성, 음악 활동, 제재곡, 추천곡 등을 체계적으로 분석하고 전문가 검토 후 결과 및 시사점을 제시하였다. 첫째, 통합교과는 정체성, 공간성 영역의 총 154개 주제 수업 묶음 중 음악 수업은 32개로 매우 적으며, 놀이 및 안전 수업 묶음까지 포함한다면 그 비중은 더욱 낮아진다. 주요 음악 활동은 노랫말 읽고 이해하기, 듣고(따라) 부르기, 바꿔 부르기, 신체 표현하기, 놀이하기, 리 듬 치기, 장단 치기였으며, 가창 중심 활동이 가장 많았다. 둘째, 통합교과 교과서에 수록된 제재곡은 국악, 양악, 세계민요로 분류되었으며, 동요의 비율이 가장 높았다. 전래동요와 민 요는 메나리토리, 육자배기토리와 자진모리장단이 많이 사용되었으며, 양악곡과 세계민요는 다장조와 바장조, 그리고 4/4박자 곡이 가장 많았다. 제재곡의 길이는 1학년에 비해 2학년에 서 더 길었고, 악보는 주로 가사보의 형태로 제시되었으며 가락선보를 거쳐 2학년에 처음으 로 오선보가 등장하였다. 셋째, 바른 생활ㆍ슬기로운 생활ㆍ즐거운 생활(미술, 체육)과 연계 된 음악 내용은 지도서에 추천곡을 제시하는 데 그쳐 음악 활동과의 실질적인 연계성이 낮 았다. 본 연구는 초등학교 1, 2학년 1학기 통합교과의 음악 내용을 분석하고 그 현황 및 특징을 논의하였다. 이를 통해, 차기 통합교육과정에서의 음악 수업 편성 확대와 1, 2학년 수준 및 수업 주제에 적합한 다양한 음악적 경험 제공, 그리고 3, 4학년의 음악 내용 및 활동과의 연계에 관한 후속 연구를 제안하였다.
