This study analyzed 7,100 news articles related to Busan, exposed on Google over the past two years from August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2024, using text mining techniques to identify the main issues and keywords covered in domestic media reports about Busan. Keyword frequency analysis and CONCOR analysis were employed to examine the key discourse structures surrounding Busan, and based on these findings, the study drew insights into Busan's internationalization strategy. The results revealed that Busan was predominantly associated with issues such as efforts to host international events like the 2030 World Expo, digital innovation, regional development, and political changes. These findings indicate that Busan's various endeavors to grow as a global city were prominently reflected in media reports. Building on these results, the study emphasized the significance of digitalization, public diplomacy, and sustainable development in the process of Busan’s internationalization and discussed the implications for enhancing the city’s global competitiveness. Furthermore, it suggested that Busan needs to establish a concrete and long-term strategic direction to take a leading role on the global stage by leveraging these elements. This research introduces a methodological approach to urban internationalization through the application of text mining techniques, and it proposes that future studies should conduct more in-depth examinations of Busan's internationalization by incorporating a broader range of media platforms, qualitative analyses, and comparative studies. Additionally, it recommends exploring how positive, negative, and neutral trends appear in news coverage of Busan through sentiment analysis and discourse analysis, as well as investigating how such reporting affects public perceptions.

본 연구는 2022년 8월 1일부터 2024년 7월 31일까지 지난 2년간 구글(Google)에 노출 된 7,100건의 부산 관련 뉴스 기사를 텍스트마이닝 기법을 통해 분석함으로써, 국내 언론 보도에서 부산이 주로 어떠한 이슈와 키워드를 중심으로 다뤄졌는지를 규명하였다. 키 워드 빈도분석과 CONCOR 분석을 활용하여 부산에 대한 주요 담론 구조를 파악하였으 며, 이를 바탕으로 부산의 국제화 전략에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다. 분석 결과, 부산은 2030년 엑스포 유치와 같은 국제 행사 유치, 디지털 혁신, 지역 개발 및 정치적 변화와 관 련된 이슈가 주로 다뤄졌으며, 부산이 국제적 도시로 성장하기 위한 다양한 노력이 언론 보도를 통해 드러났다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 부산의 국제화 과정에서 디지 털화, 공공외교, 지속 가능한 발전 등의 중요성을 강조하였으며, 도시의 국제 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 시사점을 논의하였다. 또한 이러한 요소들을 기반으로 부산은 글로벌 무 대에서 선도적인 역할을 수행할 수 있는 구체적이고 장기적인 전략적 방향성을 마련할 필요가 있음을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 텍스트마이닝 기법을 활용한 데이터 분석을 통해 도시 국제화 연구의 접근법을 제시하였으며, 후속 연구에서는 보다 폭넓은 범위의 미디 어 플랫폼, 정성적 분석 및 비교연구 등을 통해 부산의 국제화를 심층적으로 고찰할 필요 가 있음을 제안한다. 아울러 향후 감성분석(sentiment analysis)이나 담론분석(discourse analysis)을 통해 부산에 대한 뉴스 보도에서 긍정적, 부정적, 중립적 경향이 어떻게 나타 나는지, 그리고 이러한 보도가 시민들의 인식에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 탐구할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 한계를 보완하여, 부산의 국제화 전략이 더욱 심층적이고 다각도로 분석 될 필요가 있으며, 이를 통해 부산은 글로벌 도시로 성장할 수 있는 더 나은 방향을 모색 할 수 있을 것이다.
