This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of an action-oriented environmental education program conducted at C University for pre-service teachers. The research methods employed to achieve this objective were carried out from 2023 to 2024. A pre-and post-test t-test was conducted with students enrolled in the action-oriented environmental education course to examine areas such as environmental awareness and environmental sensitivity. The results of the study are as follows: The action-oriented environmental education program effectively enhanced pre-service teachers’ environmental knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral intentions. In particular, it was effective in fostering practical actions to address environmental issues. Participants developed a deeper understanding of environmental problems and learned specific behavioral strategies applicable to real-life contexts, thereby strengthening their sense of responsibility and agency toward the environment. Notably, the action-oriented approach demonstrated its capacity to maximize learning outcomes not only in environmental behavior but also in the cognitive aspects of environmental knowledge. Furthermore, regarding environmental sensitivity, the program showed significant effects in most areas, including natural environments, artificial environments, environmental destruction, and environmental pollution. However, its effect was relatively limited in the area of activities within natural environments. This outcome appears to be due to the lack of practical experiential activities in natural settings and the program's emphasis on theoretical content. Therefore, it is concluded that future program designs should incorporate outdoor experiential learning and natural exploration activities to further enhance sensitivity to activities in natural environments.

이 연구는 C대학에서 예비교사를 대상으로 실시된 행동지향적 환경교육프로그램의 효과를 분석하 기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위한 연구방법으로는 2023년부터 2024년까지 C대학에서 이루어졌던 행동지향적 환경교육프로그램 운영 교과목의 수강생을 대상으로 환경인식, 환경감수성 등 의 영역에서 사전사후 t검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 행동지향적 환경교육프로그램은 예비교사의 환경 지식, 태도, 행동 의도를 고루 증진시켰으며, 특히 환경문제 해결을 위한 실천적 행동 을 유도하는 데 효과적이었다. 참여자들은 환경문제에 대한 깊이 있는 인식과 함께 실생활에서 적용 가능한 구체적인 행동 전략을 학습하였고, 이를 통해 환경에 대한 책임감과 주체성이 강화되었다. 특히 행동지향적 접근은 단순한 이론 전달을 넘어, 환경 행동과 지식적 측면 모두에서 학습 효과를 극대화 할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 또한, 환경감수성과 관련해서는 자연환경, 인공환경, 환경파괴, 환경오염 등 대부분의 영역에서 효과가 확인되었으나, 자연환경에서의 활동 영역에서는 상대적으로 효과가 미비하 였다. 이는 프로그램 내 자연환경에서의 실제적 활동 경험 부족과 이론적 전달의 비중이 높은 점에서 기인한 것으로 보인다. 따라서 향후 프로그램 설계에서는 야외 체험학습과 자연 탐구 활동을 강화하여 자연환경 활동에 대한 감수성을 더욱 높일 필요가 있다는 결론을 도출하였다.
