This study investigates and analyzes the general life and learning conditions of 48 Russian-speaking Koryo-in adolescents who had immigrated to South Korea during their elementary or secondary school years and were enrolled at Y High School in Chungnam in November 2024. This study designates their unique cultural world as the Russian~ Koryo-in Fusion Cultural World and approaches them as youth citizens with a Russian~Koryo-in fusion cultural background. As living representations of the historical migration of the Korean people, these adolescents embody the values and significance of survival-driven fusion cultures. The study analyzes the societal and structural contexts in which their right to education as a universal human right, as well as the necessary support for their learning, are not adequately provided. Furthermore, it proposes cultural understanding and policy alternatives that must be established to address these issues. Most of the participating adolescents lived with their Koryo-in background families and had immigrated to Korea from Russian-speaking regions at an elementary or secondary school age. They exhibited a strong sense of pride and efficacy regarding their Russian language and native culture. At the same time, they enjoyed Korean culture and aspired to attend university or work in South Korea in the future. They also showed interest in activities that connected the two cultures. While they were capable of engaging in everyday conversations, social interactions, and basic high school-level academic learning, they faced challenges in the humanities-centered high school curriculum, which primarily prepares students for university admission. To address this, they either spent their own money or attended external centers to supplement their Korean language studies. Additionally, many of their parents did not necessarily prioritize university education for their children but instead sought information about vocational training and career pathways. To improve the learning environment for Russian-speaking Koryo-in adolescents, two primary conditions must be met. First, there must be a societal reflection and re-recognition of the Russian~Koryo-in Fusion Cultural World, which these youths have internalized through their family's migration history. Second, the fundamentally authoritarian, monocultural educational structure that dominates the current system must be comprehensively reformed.

본 논문은 2024년 11월 충남 Y고등학교에 재학 중인 러시아어권 고려인 중도 입국청소년 48명의 일반생활 및 학습 실태를 6개 영역으로 나누어 조사하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 본 논문은 이들의 고유한 문화세계를 러시아-고려인 융합문화세계로 명명하고 이들을 러시아-고려인 융합문화 배경의 청소년시민으로 접근하였다. 한민족 이주 사의 살아있는 가치이며 의미인 이들의 생존적 융합문화세계에 관한 존중과 보편 인권으로서의 교육 권리와 지원이 어떤 사회구조적 맥락 속에서 이루어지지 않는 지 분석하고, 이를 개선하기 위하여 전제가 되어야 할 문화적 이해와 정책 대안을 제안하고자 하였다. 참가자 청소년들은 대부분 고려인 배경 가족과 함께 살았으며 초등 혹은 중등 시기에 러시아어권 지역에서 한국으로 중도입국 하였다. 이들은 러시아어와 모국 문화에 자부심과 효능감이 있었다. 등시에 이들은 한국 문화를 즐기며 장차 한국 에서 대학을 가거나 일을 하길 바랐으며 두 문화를 연결하는 활동에도 관심을 보였다.
