In this paper, I examined the principle of transparency, which is newly emphasized in the digital age, among various ethical principles. The principle of transparency is an ethical principle that is increasingly important as AI develops due to the black boxing of AI algorithms. First, I examined the relationship between ethical principles and the principle of transparency as conditions for trustworthy AI. Next, I looked at the singularity problem and the ‘heuristics of fear’. Third, I divided the subjects of transparency into humans and AI. In addition, I suggested the direction of transparency practice. In conclusion, I argued that AI stakeholders should practice the principle of transparency to prevent misuse, design errors, and unintended side effects of AI.

본 논문에서는 여러 윤리원칙들 중에서 디지털 시대에 새롭게 강조 되고 있는 투명성의 원칙에 대해서 고찰하였다. 투명성의 원칙은 인공 지능 알고리즘의 불투명성으로 인해서 앞으로 인공지능이 발달하면 할 수록 더 중시되는 윤리원칙이다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 신뢰할 수 있는 인공지능의 조건으로서 윤리원칙들과 투명성의 원칙의 관계를 살펴보 았다. 다음으로 인공지능윤리에서 투명성의 요청이유로 싱귤래러티와 공포의 발견술을 제시하였다. 투명성의 실천 주체는 인간과 인공지능 으로 나누어 보고 투명성의 실천 방향을 제시하였다. 인공지능의 오남 용, 설계 오류, 의도하지 않은 부작용 등으로 인한 개인과 사회적 손실에 대한 예방은 인공지능 이해관계자들의 투명성 원칙의 실천으로 가 능하다고 본다.
