This paper conducted an empirical analysis of how researchers' moral self influences their research ethics consciousness through the mediation of moral identity through an online survey. The participants of this research were 532 researchers aged 20 or older who are employed at universities, government-funded organizations, research institutes, and academic societies nationwide and who have received at least 2 hours of online or offline research ethics education within the last 3 years. Data were collected through measurements of moral self, moral identity, and research ethics awareness and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results of the study were as follows: First, moral self and moral identity were positively correlated; Second, moral identity influenced research ethics awareness; and Third, moral self and research ethics awareness were positively correlated. Fourth, moral identity was statistically significant as a full mediator in the relationship between moral self and research ethics awareness.

본 연구는 온라인 설문조사를 통해 연구자의 도덕적 자아가 도덕적 정체성을 매개로 연구윤리 의식에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석한 것이다. 연구 참여자는 20대 이상 연구자로 최근 3년 이내에 온라인 또는 오프라인 연구윤리 교육을 2시간 이상 받은 532명이었다. 데이터 분석은 구조방정식모형(structural equation modeling)을 활용하 였고, 결과는 다음과 같다 첫째, 도덕적 자아와 도덕적 정체성은 양(+) 의 상관관계가 있었다. 둘째, 도덕적 자아와 연구윤리 의식은 양(+)의 상관관계가 있었다. 셋째, 도덕적 자아와 연구윤리 의식의 관계에서 도 덕적 정체성은 완전 매개의 효과가 있었다.
