This paper compares the concepts and philosophies of quantum mechanics by theoretical physicist Heisenberg, which shows Kim Seungok’s short story “50 years later, one day of D.π.9 journalist”, depicting the future of the 21st century, and the dystopian worldview revealed in Kim Youngha’s feature farewell. The future set by the two novels shows a temporal relationship from Kim Seungok to Kim Youngha. In addition, the issue of preserving unique humanity between advanced science and future humans is raised, and this question is considered to work effectively in modern physics, quantum mechanics. This is because there is a part where the movement of electrons in atoms meets humanity in the events of atomic units covered by quantum mechanics. In the dystopian novel, the junction between quantum mechanics and literature is found. First of all, in the future world view of the short story “50 years later, one day of D.π.9 journalist”, the speed of the soul as a flying object faster than light is questioned, which was analyzed by substituting it into the concept of position and speed of Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, which became the key to solving quantum mechanics. In addition, the theory of particle and wave, the dual nature of the former, was introduced to explore the human body and consciousness, which are the themes that form the axis of the narrative of the feature farewell. Finally, based on Heisenberg’s philosophical thinking, the narratives about the deaths of the future problematic humans ‘the first man’ and ‘the last man’ appearing in the “50 years later, one day of D.π.9 journalist”, and in the farewell were compared and analyzed.

이 논문은 21세기 동안의 미래 사회를 그린 김승옥의 단편 「50년 후, D.π.9 기자의 어느 날」과 김영하의 장편 『작별인사』에 드러난 디스토피아 세계관을 이론물리학자 하이젠베르크의 양자역학의 개념과 철학으로 비교 분석했다. 두 소설이 설정한 미래는 김승옥에서 김영하로 이어지는 시기적 연관성을 보인다. 더불어 진보된 과학과 미래 인간 사이에서, 고유한 인간성 보존에 대한 문제제기를 하고 있고, 이 물음은 현대물리학인 양자역학 안에서도 유효하게 작용하는 것으로 판단된다. 양자역학이 다루는 원자 단위의 사건에 원자 속 전자의 움직임이 인간성과 맞닿는 부분이 있기 때문이다. 디스토피아 소설 안에서 양자역학과 문학의 접점 지대가 발견된다. 우선 단편 「50년 후, D.π.9 기자의 어느 날」의 미래 세계관에서는 ‘빛보다 빠른 비행체로서, 영혼의 속도’가 문제시되는데 이를 양자역학을 푸는 열쇠가 된, 하이젠베르크의 불확정성 원리의 ‘위치와 속도’ 개념에 대입하여 분석했다. 또한 장편 『작별인사』의 서사의 축을 형성하는 주제인 인간의 ‘몸과 의식’에 관하여서는, 전자의 이중적 성질 ‘입자와 파동’ 이론을 등장시켜 탐구했다. 끝으로, 「50년 후, D.π.9 기자의 어느 날」과 『작별인사』에 각각 나타나는, 미래의 문제적 인간인 ‘최초의 인간’과, ‘마지막 인간’의 죽음에 대한 서사를, 하이젠베르크의 철학적 사유를 토대로 비교 분석했다.
