In this study, the contents were organized around the study of Jeongeupsa so that it can be a basic data when planning and developing cultural contents in the Jeongeup area using the work of Jeongeupsa. We examined what issues and discussions occurred in relation to the study of Jeongeupsa, and what appropriate interpretations help understand the work. In addition, based on the understanding of the work of Jeongeupsa, we discussed what limitations are the ‘Jeongeupsa’ that has been used in local culture. In the process of developing and utilizing ‘Jeongeupsa’ as local cultural content, two main limitations could be identified. First, it is an interpretation limited to general understanding and the production of content based on this. Next, it is a planning and content composition that focuses only on the local event itself, which overlooks the identity of the work of ‘Jeongeupsa’. In order to overcome these limitations, it is necessary to plan local cultural contents and create content based on understanding the work of ‘Jeongeupsa’ and interpretation and discussion considering various issues.

본 연구에서는 ‘정읍사’ 작품을 활용하여 정읍 지역의 문화콘텐츠를 기획하 고 개발할 때 기초 자료가 될 수 있도록 ‘정읍사’ 어석 연구를 중심으로 내용을 정리하였다. 어석 연구와 관련하여 어떤 쟁점과 논의들이 있었는지, 그리고 작품의 이해를 돕는 적절한 해석은 어떠한 것이 있는지 살펴보았다. 그리고 ‘정읍사’ 작품에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 그동안 지역문화에서 활용한 ‘정읍사’는 어떤 한계가 있는지 논의하였다. ‘정읍사’를 지역문화콘텐츠로 개발하고 활용 하는 과정에서 크게 두 개의 한계를 확인할 수 있었다. 먼저 일반적인 이해에 국한한 해석과 이를 토대로 한 콘텐츠의 생산이다. 다음으로 ‘정읍사’ 작품의 정체성을 간과한 지역 행사 자체에만 관심을 두는 기획과 내용 구성이다. 이러 한 한계를 극복하기 위해서는 ‘정읍사’ 작품에 대한 이해와 여러 쟁점을 고려한 해석과 논의를 바탕으로 지역문화콘텐츠를 기획하고 내용을 구성할 수 있어야한다.
