This study investigates the current state of Korean beginner textbooks, analyzing their characteristics and identifying gaps, especially for Chinese university students. With the growing demand for Korean language education in China, this research highlights the need for culturally and linguistically tailored materials. Korean textbooks often emphasize grammatical accuracy and cultural immersion but may lack localization for Chinese learners. Meanwhile, textbooks developed in China incorporate contextual familiarity but frequently present inaccuracies in grammar and expressions. By comparing textbooks from both regions, this study outlines practical strategies for developing optimized learning materials. Recommendations include adopting localized themes, enhancing communication –focused methodologies, and addressing the unique linguistic challenges of Chinese learners. The findings aim to contribute to the design of comprehensive, effective textbooks that foster language proficiency and cross-cultural understanding in Korean education for Chinese students.

본 연구는 한국어 초급 교재의 현황을 조사하고, 그 특징을 분석하며, 특히 중국 대학생 학습자를 대상으로 한 교재의 한계를 규명한다. 중국 내 한국어 교육 수요가 증가하는 상황에서, 본 연구는 문화적 및 언어적 으로 맞춤화된 교재의 필요성을 강조한다. 한국에서 개발된 교재는 문법 적 정확성과 문화적 몰입을 강조하는 경향이 있으나, 중국 학습자를 위한 현지화가 부족하다는 한계를 보인다. 반면, 중국에서 개발된 교재는 학습 자의 맥락적 친숙성을 반영하고 있으나, 문법 및 표현의 정확성 면에서 빈번히 문제점을 드러낸다. 양국 교재의 비교를 통해, 본 연구는 최적화 된 학습 자료 개발을 위한 실질적 전략을 제안한다. 이러한 전략은 문화 적 특색을 반영한 주제의 도입, 의사소통 중심 교수법의 강화, 중국 학습 자의 독특한 언어적 과제에 대한 대응 등을 포함한다. 연구 결과는 중국 학습자를 위한 한국어 교육에서 언어 능력 향상과 문화 간 이해를 촉진하 는 포괄적이고 효과적인 교재 설계에 기여하고자 한다.
