The purpose of this study is to specifically identify the educational effects and influences of the sport environment on student-athletes and to shed light on the differences in social values and norms that student-athletes form through their sporting activities. To this end, a comparative analysis was conducted of the sport socialization process experienced by elementary school soccer student-athletes in two sport settings: school teams and club teams. Elementary school student-athletes with at least two years of soccer participation and their parents were selected for the study. Data were collected using in-depth interviews, observation notes, and research journals, and analyzed using inductive categorical analysis. The results of the study showed that student-athletes on school teams primarily pursued outcome-driven goals of performance improvement and success as professional athletes, and tended to emphasize the values of “functional cooperation,” “results-driven competition,” and “mental toughness to improve performance. On the other hand, student-athletes on club teams value emotional and social growth through soccer, including psychological stability and interpersonal relationships, and emphasize the value of “mental cooperation,” “process-oriented competition,” and “mental strength to improve quality of life. These findings suggest that the different operating formats of school teams and club teams create distinct differences in elementary school athletes' sports socialization experiences and learning processes. Based on these findings, this study emphasizes the need to create a balanced sports environment and educational approach that takes into account the strengths and limitations of both school and club teams. It also suggests the need for a systematic and integrated student-athlete development system that enables student-athletes to achieve emotional, social, and cognitive maturity beyond physical development through sports participation.

이 연구의 목적은 스포츠 환경이 학생선수들에게 미치는 교육적 효과와 영향을 구체적으로 밝히고, 학생선수들 이 스포츠 활동을 통해 형성하는 사회적 가치와 규범의 차이를 조명하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 초등학생 축구 종목 학생선수들이 학교 팀과 클럽 팀이라는 두 가지 스포츠 환경에서 경험하는 스포츠로의 사회화 과정을 비교 분석 하였다. 만 2년 이상의 축구 활동 참여 경험을 가진 초등학교 학생선수와 학부모를 연구 대상으로 선정했다. 심 층 면담, 관찰 기록, 연구 일지를 활용하여 자료를 수집했고, 귀납적 범주 분석을 통해 데이터를 분석하였다. 연 구 결과, 학교 팀 소속 학생선수들은 주로 경기력 향상과 직업적 운동선수로서의 성공이라는 결과 중심적 목표 를 추구하며, ‘기능적 협동’과 ‘결과 중심 경쟁’, ‘경기력 향상을 위한 정신력’의 가치를 강조하는 경향을 보였다. 반면, 클럽 팀 소속 학생선수들은 축구 활동을 통해 심리적 안정과 대인 관계 형성 등 정서적, 사회적 성장을 중 시하며, ‘마음의 협동’, ‘과정 중심 경쟁’, ‘삶의 질을 높이는 정신력’의 가치를 강조하는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 학교 팀과 클럽 팀의 각기 다른 운영 형식이 초등학생 선수들의 스포츠 사회화 경험과 학습 과정에 뚜렷한 차이를 만들어낸다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 학교 팀과 클럽 팀 각각의 강점 과 한계를 고려한 균형 잡힌 스포츠 환경의 조성과 교육적 접근의 필요성을 강조한다. 또한, 학생선수들이 스포 츠 참여를 통해 신체적 발달을 넘어 정서적, 사회적, 인지적 성숙을 이룰 수 있도록 체계적이고 통합적인 학생선 수 육성 시스템의 필요성을 제안했다.
