This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the effectiveness of art therapy for schizophrenia in Korea. The literature search was conducted by searching journals, theses, and grey literature published until 8 June 2024 without limitation of publication year. The effect size was calculated by applying a random-effects model to the 42 articles that met the purpose of this study. The results showed that the overall mean effect size was 1.09 (95% CI: 0.91~1.28), which was statistically significant. The effect sizes of the outcome variables were self-esteem (Hedges‘ g=1.57), interpersonal relationships (Hedges’ g=1.26), quality of life (Hedges‘ g=.94), and depression (Hedges’ g=.87), which were found to have significant effects. These results can be used as an academic foundation for art therapy for people with schizophrenia.

본 연구는 국내 조현병 대상자 예술치료의 효과성에 대하여 체계적 문헌고찰 및 메타분석을 실시하였다. 연구방법은 문헌검색은 출판연도의 제한 없이 2024년 6월 8일까지 출판된 학술지· 학위논문, 회색문헌을 검색하였다. 본 연구목적에 부 합한 최종 42편을 무선효과모형을 적용하여 효과크기를 산출하였다. 연구결과는 전체 평균 효과크기가 1.09(95% CI: 0.91~ 1.28)로 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 결과 변수의 효과크기는 자아존중감(Hedges’ g=1.57) 대인관계(Hedges’ g=1.26) 삶의 질(Hedges’ g=.94) 우울(Hedges’ g=.87) 순으로 나타나 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이러한 결과는 조현병 대상 자 예술치료의 학문적 기초자료로 활용이 가능하다.
