This study attempted to approach the fundamental solution to create a sustainable MICE industry ecosystem from the perspective of internal working conditions. Specifically, we attempted a comprehensive approach to working conditions for those working in the exhibition industry. As a verification method, the IPA analysis technique was applied to analyze the importance and satisfaction of working conditions as perceived by employees. A difference analysis was also conducted accordingly. To achieve the purpose of the study, two research questions were presented, and frequency analysis, reliability verification, and importance-satisfaction comparative analysis were performed to effectively verify them. The analysis results showed that first, workers in the exhibition industry recognized that wages, annual salary, welfare benefits, and performance-based compensation, which can be considered as compensation for their labor, were very important in terms of working conditions. However, the results verified that the level of satisfaction with this was relatively insufficient. Second, it was found that exhibition industry workers were relatively satisfied with their working environment, including their relationships with superiors and colleagues, the relevance of their personal aptitudes to their jobs, and facilities. Third, exhibition industry workers did not perceive much importance in opportunities to participate in job competency enhancement training and work processing methods, but their satisfaction with these was relatively high.

이 연구는 지속가능한 MICE 전시산업 생태계 조성을 위하여 이에 대한 근원적 방안 을 내부적 차원의 근무여건이라는 요인으로 접근해 보고자 하였다. 구체적으로는 전시 산업 종사자를 대상으로 근무여건에 대한 포괄적인 접근을 시도하였다. 검증 방법으로 는 IPA 분석 기법을 적용하여 종사자들이 체감하고 있는 근무여건의 중요도와 만족도 를 분석하였으며, 이에 따른 차이분석 또한 진행하였다. 연구의 목적달성을 위해 2가지 연구문제를 제시하였으며, 이를 효과적으로 검증하기 위해 빈도분석, 신뢰도 검증, 중 요도-만족도 비교분석을 시행하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 전시산업 종사자는 근무여건에 있어서 자신들의 노동력의 대가라 할 수 있는 급여 및 연봉, 복리후생, 성과 보상 등이 매우 중요하다고 인식하고 있었 다. 그러나 상대적으로 이에 대한 만족도는 미흡하다는 결과가 검증되었다. 둘째, 전시 산업 종사자는 상사 및 동료와의 관계, 개인 적성과 직무의 연관성, 시설 등 근무환경 에는 상대적으로 만족감을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 전시산업 종사자는 직 무 역량 강화 교육 참여 기회, 업무처리방식 등에 크게 중요성을 인식하지 못하였으나, 이에 대한 만족도는 상대적으로 매우 높게 나타났다. 특히 전공과 직무의 연관성이라 는 부분에 있어서는 중요도보다 만족도가 높다는 결과가 도출되었다. 이러한 결과는 현재 국내의 MICE 전시산업계 전반에 걸친 고민과 논의가 전재되어 진다. 국내의 경우 MICE 전시산업이 매우 경쟁력 있는 고부가가치 산업임을 인지하고 있으며, 지속적으로 긍정적인 발전방향성을 유지하고 있음에도 불구하고 전통적으로 대기업 기반인 제조업과의 비교 경쟁에 있어서는 상대적으로 미흡한 위치에 놓여 있는 것이 현실이다. 이에 따라 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화 등이 급속도록 발전하고 있는 국내 상황에서 MICE 전시산업 종사자들이 지속적으로 MICE 전시산업을 영위하기 위해서는 이에 대한 대응책이 준비되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.
