Recently, with the increasing importance of personal image management, there has been a growing interest in individuals wanting to discover their personal colors. Consequently, the use of beauty applications for self-diagnosing personal colors is also on the rise. Therefore, this study aims to analyze personal color diagnostic programs systematically and objectively for the purpose of structured data collection. Four applications—JamFace, Eye Color, Dressika, and My Best Colors—were analyzed using the Korean Standard Color Analysis Program, extracting less than 56 colors categorized by hue, brightness, and saturation into Yellow Base and Blue Base. Additionally, the study analyzed the types of diagnostic content in each application. The results revealed that all four applications use seasonal palettes for diagnosis, but differences were observed in the types and ranges of seasonal color analysis. Furthermore, each application offers various features and content such as real-time virtual makeup and color analysis through user questions, utilizing different diagnostic methods and platform approaches. Future research should expand on the reliability of diagnostic colors in personal color diagnostic applications, and it is anticipated that this study will serve as substantial foundational data for the development of personal color diagnostic programs.
