The principles of screen printing plate-making determine its reliance on image elements. Whether through traditional hand-drawn plate-making or the modern digital approach, both methods of screen printing exhibit their respective advantages and disadvantages in today's art environment. Traditional plate-making highlights the painterly quality and artistic style of film images but suffers from significant wear and tear. In contrast, with the intervention of digital technology, plate-making allows for a more diverse, complex, and inclusive use of image elements, though it can easily become rigid and overly focused on technology. Both approaches face opportunities and challenges. However, the unique ways in which image elements are expressed and valued during the screen printing process continue to be recognized and loved by many artists and viewers. In the context of contemporary art, screen printing can explore and expand the use of image elements in a more multidimensional manner, based on the characteristics and trends of the times, showcasing its unique charm.
