The teacher-student relationship is considered an important environmental variable and moderator variable that affects children’s adaptation and the reduction of problem behaviors. In this study, through literature review, the theoretical foundations for the importance of teacher-student relationships was explored. In addition, scales for evaluating teacher-student relationships, facilitation strategies for forming desirable teacher-student relationships were investigated. The importance of the teacher-student relationship was theoretically based on attachment theory, the facilitative conditions of person-centered counseling, and an ecological perspective. The student's and teacher’s attachment types were the most studied variables that affect the teacher-student relationship. Also, attachment theory was most often used in the development of teacher-student relationship scale. Based on the results, ways to facilitate teacher-student relationships were discussed. Limitations of the current study and suggestions for the future research were described.

교사-학생 관계는 아동의 문제행동의 감소와 적응에 영향을 주는 중요한 환경 변인이면서 조 절변인으로 간주된다. 이 연구에서는 문헌연구를 통해 교사-학생 관계의 중요성에 대한 이론 적 기반을 탐색하고, 관련하여 교사-학생 관계의 평가도구, 바람직한 교사-학생 관계의 형성 을 위한 개입 방법 등을 고찰하였다. 교사-학생 관계의 중요성은 애착이론, 인간중심상담의 촉진적 관계, 생태학적 관점 등을 이론적 기반으로 하였다. 교사-학생 관계에 영향을 주는 변 인으로는 학생 및 교사의 애착유형이 가장 많이 연구되었다. 교사-학생 관계의 평가에는 촉 진적 관계를 측정하는 교사-학생관계척도와 애착관계를 측정하는 학생-교사 애착관계도구가 자주 사용되었다. 이론적 관점을 토대로 교사-학생 관계의 촉진방안을 논의하였다. 연구의 제 한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언이 기술되었다.
