This study aims to systematically examine the original edition of Amokru (兒目淚), a poetry collection by independence activist Ye Gwan Shin Gyu-sik (1880~1922), to establish a definitive edition and provide foundational data for future research. Amokru is an essential resource for understanding the intellectual foundations of independence activists and the trajectory of the independence movement in China during the Japanese colonial period. While some research on Amokru has been conducted by Korean and Chinese scholars, in-depth studies of the various existing versions of the collection remain insufficient. To address this gap, this study conducts a comparative analysis of four versions: one manuscript and three printed versions from Doklipgongron(獨立公論), Junghanoegyosahwa(中韓外交史話), and Hangukhon(韓國魂). Through a detailed examination of these versions, it was determined that the manuscript surpasses the other editions in terms of title notation accuracy, the precision of Chinese characters, and the sequence of poems, establishing it as the definitive edition. The manuscript’s unique characteristics allowed for the correction of numerous errors and editorial inaccuracies present in later printed versions. Additionally, an analysis of the subtitles and editorial notes added during the transmission process provided insights into the lineage and influence among the various editions. The findings demonstrate the distinctive documentary value of the manuscript, which conveys the historical context and narrative more richly than the other versions. By highlighting the unique significance of the manuscript, this study establishes a foundation for subsequent research. The manuscript’s particular characteristics can assist future researchers in rectifying potential errors in the translation and interpretation of Amokru. The proposed establishment of a definitive edition and textual collation among the versions is anticipated to serve as critical foundational material for research on the history of independence movements and literary history centered on Amokru.

본 연구는 독립운동가 예관 신규식(1880~1922)의 시집 『아목루』의 원전을 체계적으 로 검토하여, 선본을 확정하고 향후 연구에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 『아목루』는 일제 강점기 중국 내 독립운동의 흐름과 당시 독립인사들의 사상적 기 반을 이해하는 데 있어 매우 중요한 자료로, 그간 한국과 중국 학자들에 의해 일부 연구 가 이루어졌으나 시집의 다양한 이본에 대한 심층 연구는 미비한 상황이다. 본 연구는 이러한 기존 연구의 한계를 보완하기 위해 필사본 1종과 인쇄본인 『독립공론』, 『중한외 교사화』, 『한국혼』 등 총 4종의 이본을 대상으로 비교 분석을 진행하였다. 이본들을 비교 검토한 결과, 제목 표기, 한자 사용의 정확성, 작품 순서 배열 등의 측면에서 필사본이 다른 판본보다 정확성이 높아 선본으로 확정할 수 있었다. 특히 필사 본이 갖는 고유한 특징으로, 후대 판본에 등장하는 여러 오탈자와 편집상의 오류를 바로 잡을 수 있었으며, 전승 과정에서 추가된 부제와 편집자 주석을 통해 각 이본의 계열과 영향 관계도 분석하였다. 이와 같은 검토 결과는 필사본이 지닌 고유한 자료적 가치를 보여주는 것으로, 필사본이 다른 판본에 비해 당시 상황과 맥락을 더욱 풍부하게 전달하 고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 필사본이 지닌 독특한 가치와 의미를 부각시키며, 후속 연구의 기반을 마련하고자 한다. 필사본이 갖는 이러한 고유한 특성은 후대 연구자들이 『아목루』의 번역과 해석에서 발생할 수 있는 오류를 수정하는 데에도 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구가 제안하는 선본 확정과 이본 간의 교감 작업은 『아목루』를 중심으로 한 독립운 동사 및 문학사 연구에 중요한 기초 자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.
