Dividends are an important indicator that simultaneously reflects the interests of managers, shareholders, and investors. So far, high growth has been emphasized in Korea, and it has been recognized as desirable to secure funds needed for investment by reducing dividends and increasing retained earnings for growth. In this paper, Korean data is applied, focusing on the relationship between dividends and profits. I would like to analyze it. The significance of this study is to expand the existing research on dividend signaling theory by examining the relationship between changes in dividends and changes in future profits using domestic data, and by examining whether dividend payments provide information on a company's long-term profit generation. There will be. Additionally, while existing domestic dividend signal theory studies have simply examined the relationships between dividends and profits and dividends and corporate value in a one-dimensional manner, this study examines variables that can have a moderating effect in the middle, such as investment opportunities, foreign ownership ratio, and exchange rate fluctuations. It can be said to be more expandable than existing domestic research studies in that it looked at even the most advanced studies.

배당은 경영자와 주주, 그리고 투자자들의 이해관계를 동시에 반영하고 있는 중요한 지표이다. 그동안 한국에서도 고성장이 중시되고, 성장을 위해서는 배당을 줄이고, 유보 이익을 늘려서 투자에 필요한 자금을 확보하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 인식되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 배당과 이익과의 관계에 초점을 맞추어 한국 데이터를 적용해 분석해 보고자 한다. 본 연구는 국내 데이터로 배당변화와 미래 이익 변화의 연관성을 살펴봄으로써, 배당 지급이 기업의 장기적인 이익 창출에 관한 정보를 제공한다는 기존의 배당 신호 이론에 관한 연구를 보다 확장시킨다는데에 의의가 있을것이다. 추가적으로 기존의 국내 배당신호 이론 연구들이 단순히 배당과 이익, 배당과 기업가치와의 관계만을 1차원적으로 살펴본바에 비해 이 연구는 투자기회, 외국인 지분율, 환율변동 처럼 중간에서 조절효과를 끼칠수 있는 변수들까지 살펴봤다는 점에서 기존의 국내 선행연구들에 비해 확장성이 있다고 볼수 있다.
