Since the 2000s, the expansion of the Chinese government's patriotic education has significantly heightened interest in red tourism, both domestically and internationally. Despite its rapid growth and the continuous evolution of issues related to red tourism, academic research in this field remains relatively limited. This is particularly notable given that red tourism has become a key component of China's tourism industry, supported by multifaceted government policies. In response, this study aims to examine the current status of red tourism in China while exploring related policies and academic research trends. It introduces the concept and policy landscape of red tourism in China and identifies research trends through an exploratory review of relevant literature. Special attention is given to an in-depth analysis of domestic Chinese studies, with the goal of understanding the differences between domestic and international research perspectives, as well as the characteristics and transformations shaped by China's red tourism policies. The findings reveal notable differences in how domestic and international academic studies approach red tourism. While international research often emphasizes its political dimensions, domestic studies increasingly focus not only on the core tourism resources of red tourism and the ideological attributes of red culture but also on the development and operational aspects of red tourism projects. In particular, domestic research is increasingly adopting perspectives centered on regional development and sustainable tourism. By analyzing research trends in Chinese red tourism, this study seeks to highlight the diverse perspectives and changes within this field. Furthermore, it aims to contribute to a broader understanding of the trends shaping the quantitatively expanding domestic tourism industry in China.

2000년대 이후 중국 정부의 애국주의 교육이 확산되면서 홍색관광에 대한 관심 역시 대내외적으로 높아졌다. 중국 정부의 다각적이고 정책 지원을 통해 중국 관광산업의 중요한 요소로 자리 잡으면서 빠른 확산과 동시에 홍색관광 과 관련한 이슈는 지속적으로 변화하고 있음에도 불구하고 홍색관광과 관련한 연구는 상대적으로 소극적이라 해도 과언이 아니다. 이에 본 연구는 중국 홍색 관광의 현황을 소개하고, 이와 관련한 정책과 학술연구 경향을 탐색하고자 한 다. 중국 홍색관광의 개념과 정책 현황을 소개하고, 관련 문헌을 통해 연구 동 향을 탐색적으로 파악하였다. 특히 홍색관광 관련 연구 중 중국 국내 관련 문 헌을 심층적으로 분석하여 중국 국내외 연구경향의 차이 및 중국 홍색관광정 책의 맥락에서 그 특징과 변화를 이해하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 중국 국내외 학술연구가 홍색관광을 연구하는 관점에 차이가 있음을 발견하였다. 특히 중국 외 연구가 정치적 측면에서의 홍색관광 연구가 두드러지는 반면, 중국 내 연구 의 경우, 홍색관광의 관광 핵심자원, 홍색문화의 이데올로기적 속성 뿐 아니라 최근에는 홍색관광사업의 개발 및 운영 측면, 지역개발의 관점 및 지속가능한 관광개발의 관점에서 이해하고 있는 연구들이 증가하고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 중국 홍색관광에 대한 연구경향을 분석함으로써 관련 연구의 다양한 시각과 변화를 소개하고자 하였다. 또한 최근 양적으로 확산되는 중국 국내 관 광산업 경향을 부분적으로나마 이해하는데 기여하고자 하였다.
