The Korea Coast Guard police stations were established for crime prevention, local policing activities, But After the ｢Sewol Ferry accident in 2014｣, they were reorganized into institutions focusing on maritime accident prevention and rescue activities in coastal zones. In this process, the coastal rescue boats((S)hore vessel) stationed at the police stations began to be actively used as rescue equipment. This study identified the issue through various literature studies, surveys, and interviews that, despite the deployment of new coastal rescue boats((S)hore vessel) with improved performance to police stations, operations remained based on the standards of existing patrol boats. To address this, improvement measures were proposed, including dividing the jurisdiction of coastal rescue boats((S)hore vessel) and small patrol vessels, reorganizing the command authority between the chief of the Korea Coast Guard police station and the chief of the police station, and assigning P-class small patrol vessels to A-class police stations.

해양경찰 파출소는 범죄의 예방·단속, 지역 경찰 활동 등을 위해 설치되었으나, 14년 세월호 사고를 기점으로 연안에서의 해양사고 예방 및 구조 활동 중심 기관으로 재편성되었다. 그리고 그 과정에서 파출소 연안구조정의 성능을 개선하여 구조 활동 핵심 장비로 활용하기 시작하였다. 본 연구에는 다양한 문헌연구, 설문조사와 인터뷰를 통해 성능이 개선된 신형 연 안구조정이 파출소에 배치되었음에도, 여전히 기존 순찰정 기준으로 운영되고 있는 문제점을 확인하였다. 이를 해결하기 위해 연안구조정과 소형경비정의 관할구역을 명확히 구분하고, 해양경찰서장과 파출소장의 지휘 체계를 재정비
