The purpose of this study was to investigate the life satisfaction of elderly baby boomers based on their participation in economic activities. Using the 2022 National Elderly Study, this study analyzed data from 369 working and 237 non-working baby boomers. The results are as follows. First, working baby boomers had higher life satisfaction than non-working baby boomers. Second, subjective health, housing satisfaction, community satisfaction and social respect for the elderly were significantly associated with life satisfaction for both working and non-working baby boomers. Third, while gender and social participation were significant predictors of life satisfaction for non-working baby boomers, years of education was a significant predictor for working baby boomers. The findings of this study suggest that, in addition to income and health protection policies, it is necessary to create age-friendly environment for older adults.

본 연구는 베이비붐 세대 노인의 생활만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 경제활동 참여 노인과 비참여 노인 의 비교를 통해 분석하였다. 연구의 대상은 2020년도 노인실태조사에 참여한 베이비부머 노인 중 경제활동 참여 노인 369명과 비참여 노인 237명이며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경제활동 참여 베이비붐 세대 노인의 생활 만족도가 경제활동 비참여 노인에 비해 유의미하게 높았다. 둘째, 회귀분석 결과 주관적 건강, 주택 만족도, 지역 사회환경 만족도와 노인에 대한 사회 존중은 경제활동 참여 여부에 관계없이 베이비부머 노인들의 생활만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 성별과 사회 참여는 경제활동 미참여 베이비부머 노인의 생활 만족도에, 반면에 교육연수는 경제활동 참여 베이비붐 세대 노인들의 생활만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났 다. 노인들을 위한 다양한 소득 및 건강을 위한 보장과 더불어 고령 친화적인 지역사회 환경 조성을 위한 방안의 모색이 요구된다.
