Study on the Actual Status of Dental Hygienists’ Self-oral Health Management

This study analyzed oral health knowledge, awareness, and status among dental hygienists based on general characteristics using the 9th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2022) as a reference. Results showed longer careers correlated with better oral health (Less than 2years: 72.2%, More than 11 years: 90.0%), and working less than 8 hours daily also indicated improved status (83.3%). In addition, oral health knowledge was positively correlated with perception(r=.469, p<.001), and positively correlated with oral health status(r=.166, p<.001). Oral health perception was positively correlated with oral health status(r=.191, p<.001). These findings emphasize the need for targeted education to enhance dental hygienists' knowledge and awareness, improving overall oral health outcomes.

본 연구는 치과위생사를 대상으로 일반적 특성에 따른 구강 건강 지식, 인식, 상태를 조사하기 위해 국민 건강영양조사 제9기(2022) 성인 건강설문을 참고하여 수행되었다. 연구 결과, 근무 경력이 많을수록 치료가 필요 없는 비율이 증가하는 경향이 나타났으며(2년 미만: 72.2%, 11년 이상: 90.0%), 근무 시간이 8시간 미만인 경우(83.3%)가 8시간 이상(76.9%)보다 높았다. 또한, 구강 건강 지식은 인식과 양의 상관관계이며(r=.469, p<.001), 구강 건강 상태 와 양의 상관관계로 나타났다(r=.166, p<.001). 구강 건강 인식은 구강 건강 상태와양의 상관관계(r=.191, p<.001)가 확인되었다. 이는 치과위생사의 지식과 인식 수준 향상이 구강 건강 상태와 밀접히 연관되어 있음을 보여주며, 체 계적 교육의 필요성을 강조한다.
