As large amounts of data are currently being utilized in various fields, storage systems must provide scalability. NAS and SAN are generally used to build a relatively large-scale storage system. NDAS is directly connected to the network, but unlike NAS, it does not use TCP/IP and communicates at the Ethernet layer, so there is no overhead due to the TCP/IP network stack. Based on these characteristics, NDAS is an effective solution for building cost-effective storage devices. In this paper, various system parameters needed to utilize NDAS effectively are investigated and tested. Also, performance evaluation is performed by applying NDAS to a commonly used distributed system. It also showed scalability when a single storage pool was configured with multiple NDAS storages to perform real workloads. The storage system proposed in this study can be directly applied to existing storage devices requiring scalability.

Ever since next generation convergence technology became one of the most important industries in the nation, computing professionals have encountered a growing number of challenges. Along with scholars and colleagues in related fields, they have gathered in avariety of forums and meetings over the last few decades to share their knowledge, experiences and the outcome of their research. These exchanges have led to the founding of the International Next-generation Convergence technology (INCA) on December 1, 2015. INCA was registered as an incorporated association under the Ministry of Information and Communications. The main purpose of the organization is to improve our society by achieving the highest capability possible in next generation convergence technology.
