This study was conducted to propose methods of improvement through strategic culture for the Republic of Korea's military doctrine. The theoretical background encompasses the concepts of emerging security and strategic culture, analyzing their characteristics. Through case studies, the research reviews the potential for integrating the concept of strategic culture into military doctrine studies. Utilizing a strategic culture analysis framework, ‘the National Security Strategy’, ‘Defense White Papers’, and ‘the Military Doctrine’ were analyzed to assess the influence of strategic culture on the Republic of Korea's military doctrine. The results indicate that the Republic of Korea's strategic culture is gradually evolving but lacks consistency. Furthermore, it was found that the military doctrine lacks distinctive ideological foundations unique to the Republic of Korea's military. In conclusion, this study highlights the need for the Republic of Korea to recognize the importance of strategic culture, reestablish it, and incorporate it into military doctrine to elevate its status and development.

본 연구는 전략문화를 통해 한국 군사교리의 개선 방향에 관한 제언을 하기 위해 진행되 었다. 이론적 배경으로 신흥안보와 전략문화의 개념을 살펴보고, 그 속성을 분석했다. 사례 연구를 통해 전략문화 개념이 군사교리 연구에 접목될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 전략문화의 분석 틀을 활용하여 국가안보전략지침과 국방백서, 군사기본교리를 분석하여 한국 군사교리 에 대한 전략문화의 영향을 고찰했다. 그 결과 한국의 전략문화는 다소 일관성이 떨어지고, 오래 지속되지 못하는 한계가 있었다. 또한, 군사교리에 한국군만의 독자적 사상이 부족하다 는 것을 발견했다. 결론적으로 한국은 전략문화의 중요성을 인식하여, 전략문화를 재설정하 고 이를 군사교리에도 반영하여 군사교리의 위상을 더욱 높일 필요가 있다고 고찰하였다.
