The goal and justification of unification, which is the historical mission specified in the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, must continue even in the face of North Korea, which has begun to erase unification in earnest, the complicated international situation, and the change of people's consciousness about unification. Like Mahatma Gandhi's saying, "The future depends on what you prepare for today," preparations and research on unification that will someday become reality must not stop, and preparations for the future must continue today.,Unification is prepared in all parts of the country, but the most important task is military integration. The situation on the Korean peninsula, which is the most intensely engaged in preparation for war on earth, represents the importance of research on military integration between the two Koreas. Therefore, this study analyzes the cases of Vietnam, Germany, and Yemen, which have experienced military integration in modern and contemporary history, from the perspective of Clausewitz's trinity (government, military, and people), analyzes the events or phenomena that appear in the military integration cases of each country, and derives them as obstacles that can affect the current military integration of South and North Korea. However, in this study, there are many uncertainties such as the timing of each country's case, national consciousness, surrounding environment, and international society, so it is limited to apply the same criteria, but factor analysis is meaningful in the case of countries that have achieved military integration. Today, we must establish and promote a peaceful unification policy based on free democratic basic order.

본격적으로 통일 지우기에 나선 북한, 복잡하게만 돌아가는 국제정세, 통일에 대한 국민 들의 의식 변화 속에서도 대한민국 헌법에 명시된 역사적 사명인 통일의 목표와 당위성은 계속 이어져 가야 한다. ‘미래는 당신이 오늘 무엇을 준비하느냐에 달려있다.’라는 마하트마 간디의 금언처럼 언젠가 현실이 될 통일에 관한 준비와 연구는 멈춤이 없어야 하며, 오늘도 미래를 위한 준비는 계속되어야 한다. 통일은 국가의 모든 부분에서 준비하지만, 가장 핵심 과제는 군사통합이다. 지구상에서 가장 치열하게 전쟁 준비에 몰두하고 있는 한반도의 상황 은 남북한의 군사통합에 관한 연구의 중요성을 대변해 준다. 이에 본 연구는 근·현대사에서 군사통합을 경험한 나라인 베트남, 독일, 예멘의 사례를 클라우제비츠의 삼위일체(정부, 군 (軍), 국민) 관점에서 분석하여 각 나라의 군사통합 사례에서 나타난 사건 또는 현상들을 분석하여, 현재 남북한 군사통합에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 저해요인으로 도출하고 이에 따른 대응전략과 향후 합의적 흡수통합 방향 시 우리가 준비할 사항을 제시하고자 한다. 하지만 본 연구에서 각 나라 사례들의 시기와 국민의식, 주변환경, 국제사회의 관계 등 수많은 불확실성의 요소들이 있어 동일한 기준을 적용하여 분석하는 것은 일부 제한되지만 군사통합을 이룬 나라의 사례에서 요인 분석은 의미가 있다고 하겠다. 오늘도 자유민주적 기본질서에 입각한 평화적 통일정책을 수립하고 추진해 나가야 할 것이다.
