Seongho Lee Ik (1681-1763) was a writer of the late Joseon Dynasty and a person who advocated practical reform. He devoted his entire life to learning, and as a result, he left behind disturbing writings. The writings contain many literary essays and works that express his views and thoughts on literature. 􋺷Seonghosaseol􋺸 is a material that provides a glimpse into his perception of literature and sentences, and 􋺷Seongho Complete Works􋺸 contains the results of his literary activities. Among them, among the epitaphs included in Volume 53 of 􋺷Seongho Complete Works􋺸, Sansuyugi contains clues that provide a glimpse into the characteristics of literature pursued by Seongho and his learning and thoughts, and this is also reflected in the characteristics of this writing style.A writing style is a writing style that records an event or object in case it is forgotten. Although it is basically based on recording objective facts about an object, its nature changes depending on the object, and depending on the writer, discussions may be involved, so the aspects of change are diverse. Seongho also created unique writings based on his own academic and literary theories. He left a total of 35 epitaphs, of which 5 are Sansuyugi, which relatively reflect the author’s characteristics. Sansuyugi is different in nature from Nujeonggi, which requires being aware of the name of the building that has already been decided and considering the characteristics of the owner. This is reflected in Seongho’s Sansuyugi. In Sansuyugi, only factual records of the journey are mainly described and descriptions of sentiments are restrained. As a result, the volume of the work is very small, and appreciation is mainly replaced by recording that the poem was written and recited and presenting its title. Instead, in the case of relatively long works, content related to time and action was described in a discussion style. In this respect, Seongho’s Sansuyugi is very unique, and it can be understood that the aspects of seeking changes in society as a whole while establishing an independent study in the late Joseon Dynasty were reflected in the writing of Sansuyugi.

성호 이익(1681∼1763)은 조선 후기의 문인이며 실천적 개혁론을 펼 친 인물이다. 그는 평생을 학문에 힘썼고 그 결과 방해한 저술을 남겼다. 그 저술 속에는 문학에 대한 그의 관점 및 사유를 나타낸 문학적 논설과 작품이 다수 들어있다. 􋺷성호사설􋺸은 문학과 문장에 대한 그의 인식을 엿볼 수 있는 자료이며, 􋺷성호전집􋺸은 문학 활동의 성과가 담겨있다. 그 가운데􋺷성호전집􋺸권53에 실려 있는 기문 가운데 산수유기에는 성호가 추구한 문학의 특징과 그의 학문과 사상을 엿볼 수 있는 단서가 담겨있으 며, 이것은 이 문체의 글쓰기 특징에도 반영되어 있다. 기문은 사건이나 대상에 대해 잊힐 것에 대비해 기록해두는 문체이다. 기본적으로 대상에 대한 객관적인 사실을 기록하는 것을 바탕으로 하면 서도, 그 대상에 따라 성격이 달라지며 작가에 따라 의론이 개입되기도 하므로 그 변화 양상이 다양하다. 성호도 본인이 구축한 학문과 문학론을 바탕으로 개성 있는 기문을 창작하였다. 그는 총 35편의 기문을 남기고 있으며, 이 가운데 작가의 특성이 비교적 많이 반영된 산수유기는 5편이 다. 산수유기는 이미 정해진 건물의 이름을 의식하고 그 주인의 특성을 고려해야하는 누정기와는 성격이 다른 것이다. 그는 위기지학적 학풍을 바탕으로 학문을 성취했으며, 여기에 현실에 대한 관심과 문학은 ‘實行’ 과 결부되어야 한다는 인식 아래 실용적인 면을 결부하였다. 성호의 산수유기에는 이러한 점이 반영되어 있다. 산수유기에는 주로 여정에 대한 사실적 기록만이 서술되어 있으며 감상의 서술을 절제하였 다. 그 결과 작품의 분량이 매우 적으며, 감상은 주로 시를 지어 읊었다는 기록과 그 제목을 제시하는 것으로 대체하였다. 그 대신 분량이 상대적으 로 긴 작품의 경우 時務와 관련된 내용을 의론체로 서술하였다. 이러한 점에서 성호의 산수유기는 매우 독특한 것이며, 조선 후기 독자적인 학문 을 구축하며 사회 전반에 변화를 모색했던 양상이 산수유기의 글쓰기에 투영된 것으로 파악할 수 있다.
