This study aims to enhance the effectiveness of survival swimming education by analyzing the development case of an online education program for elementary school students, created by the Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education in the first half of 2024,to address the limitations of practical survival swimming training. Qualitative data analysis was conducted using written interview responses from a task force team comprising four members (one supervisor and three field teachers) from the Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education. The study's findings are as follows: First, the survival swimming online education program provided educational opportunities for students who did not participate in practical training and served as preparatory learning material, enhancing their understanding before practical sessions. Second, the program functioned as a complement rather than a replacement for practical training, demonstrating potential to increase student participation and improve accessibility to education. Third, the systematic structure of the program ensured consistency in education and played a crucial role in enhancing students' learning motivation. These findings suggest that elementary school survival swimming education can move beyond merely practical training, contributing to the improvement of students' water safety skills through a balanced approach integrating both theoretical and practical components.

본 연구는 초등학교 생존수영 실기교육의 한계를 보완하기 위해 2024년 상반기 충청남도교육청에서 개발한 초 등학교 생존수영 온라인 교육 프로그램 사례를 분석하고, 이를 통해 생존수영교육의 실효성을 높이는 방안을 모 색하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 충청남도교육청의 TF팀(장학사 및 현장교원) 4명의 서면 인터뷰 자료를 활용하여 질적 자료 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 생존수영 온라인 교육 프로그램은 실기교육에 참여하지 않는 학 생들에게도 교육 기회를 제공하며, 실기교육 이전에 사전 학습 자료로 활용되어 학생들의 이해도를 높이는 데 기여할 수 있다. 둘째, 프로그램은 실기교육의 대체제가 아닌 보완제로서의 역할을 수행하며, 학생들의 참여를 유도하고 교육의 접근성을 높이는 가능성을 보여주었다. 셋째, 프로그램의 체계적인 구성은 교육의 일관성을 유 지하고, 학생들의 학습 동기를 높이는 데 중요한 역할을 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 연구 결과는 초등학교 생존수영 교육이 단순한 실기교육에 머물지 않고, 이론과 실기의 균형 잡힌 접근을 통해 학생들의 수상 안전 능력을 향상 시키는 데 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다.
