This study aims to systematically and validly understand the perceptions of field teachers by analyzing texts written by elementary school teachers about the separation of physical education subjects for first and second graders. To achieve this, we examined the content of comments written by users in elementary teacher communities using content analysis methods. Both quantitative content analysis through data mining and qualitative content analysis based on White and Marsh (2006) were employed. The data mining results categorized the comments into clusters such as 'Conspiracy Theories and Teachers' Anger about Physical Education Separation,' 'Two Paths for Promoting Lower Grade Physical Education,' and 'Teachers' Negative Perceptions of Expanding Physical Education for Obesity Prevention.' The discourse topics of elementary school teachers were derived as 'Current State of Elementary School Physical Education,' 'Main Actors in Lower Grade Physical Education Classes,' 'Integration and Separation of Subjects,' and 'Expansion of Physical Education for Obesity Prevention.' Meanwhile, the qualitative content analysis results indicated that the majority of elementary school teachers opposed the separation of physical education subjects. They evaluated this decision by the educational authorities as inappropriate and perceived it as a result of job creation and power struggles. Throughout the process of physical education separation, elementary school teachers exhibited emotional responses such as dissatisfaction, helplessness, anger, contempt, and concern. Finally, elementary school teachers suggested that indoor physical education spaces and an increase in dedicated physical education teachers for lower grades are necessary for the improvement of lower grade physical education classes. This study is expected to provide insights for effectively implementing physical education classes for first and second graders by systematically understanding teachers' perceptions of the separation of physical education subjects.

본 연구는 초등교사들이 작성한 1·2학년 체육교과 분리에 대한 텍스트를 분석함으로써 현장교사들의 인식을 타 당하고 체계적으로 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 초등교사 커뮤니티의 사용자들이 작성한 댓글의 내 용을 내용분석의 방법으로 살펴보고자 하였으며, 이를 위하여 데이터마이닝을 통한 양적내용분석과 White와 Marsh(2006)의 질적내용분석을 함께 사용하였다. 데이터마이닝 결과 댓글의 내용은 ‘체육 분리 음모론과 교사 의 분노’, ‘저학년 체육 활성화를 위한 두 가지 길’, ‘비만 예방을 위한 체육 확대에 대한 교사들의 부정적 인식’ 의 군집으로 분류되었고, 초등교사들의 담화 주제는‘초등학교 체육 실태', ‘저학년 체육수업의 주체’, ‘교과 통합 과 교과 분리’, ‘비만 예방을 위한 체육 확대’로 도출되었다. 한편 질적내용분석의 결과, 초등교사들의 대부분은 체육교과 분리에 반대 입장을 보이고 있었다. 이들은 교육 당국의 결정을 불합리하다고 평가하고 있었으며 저학 년 체육교과 분리를 일자리 창출과 밥그릇 싸움의 결과로 보고 있었다. 초등교사들은 체육교과 분리의 일련의 과정에서 불만과 무기력, 분노와 경멸, 걱정과 같은 정서적 반응을 보였다. 마지막으로 초등교사들은 저학년 체 육수업의 발전을 위해 실내체육공간의 마련과 저학년 체육전담교사 증원이 필요하다고 보았다. 이러한 연구는 1·2학년 체육교과 분리에 대한 교사들의 인식을 체계적으로 파악함으로써 저학년 체육교과수업을 안착시키기 위한 통찰을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
