The purpose of this study is to examine the development of Korean Hwagwanmu, which was stylized as a “dance wearing a hwagwan” and concretized as “Hwagwanmu” based on the common use and symbolic meaning of the hwagwan based on the cultural influence between the Tang and Song Dynasties and Silla and Goryeo. It was found that the acceptance and culturalization of hwagwans in the Tang and Silla Dynasties contributed to the realization of hwagwanmu, and that the systematization of music and dance and the artistic use of hwagwans in the Song and Goryeo Dynasties advanced the development and localization of Korean hwagwanmu. This study, which expands the scope of time and space based on the history of cultural exchanges between Korea and China, is expected to serve as an opportunity to prove its historicity by providing insight into the development of Korean Hwagwanmu.

이 연구의 목적은 당(唐)ㆍ송(宋)과 신라ㆍ고려 상호 간의 문화 영향력을 근거로 화관(花冠)의 통용과 상징적 의 미에 기반한 예술적 활용을 고찰하여 ‘화관(花冠)을 쓰고 추는 춤’이 양식화되어 ‘화관무(花冠舞)’로 형식을 구체 화한 한국 화관무의 전개 양상을 통찰하는 것이다. 당과 신라의 화관 수용과 문화화는 화관을 쓰고 추는 춤의 구현(具顯)에 기여하였으며, 송과 고려의 악무(樂舞) 체계화와 화관의 예술적 활용은 한국 화관무의 양식화와 토착화로 진보하였음을 심구하였다. 한ㆍ중 문화교류사에 근거하여 시공간 범위를 확장한 이 연구는 한국 화관 무 전개 양상을 통찰하여 역사성을 입증하는 계기가 될 것으로 사료된다.
