As the safety demands of residents have increased due to various violent crimes and safety accidents occurring in the local community recently, the role of municipal police in the area of daily life safety is being emphasized more. Accordingly, it is necessary to analyze the daily life safety affairs occurring in the local community by type and derive a strategy to provide public security services that can satisfy both the police and local residents. That is, this study empirically analyzed the importance and performance satisfaction of the daily life safety sector among municipal police general affairs through IPA(importanceperformance analysis) after the full implementation of the municipal police system in July 2021. From the analysis results, it is found that among the municipal police’s daily life safety affairs, ‘Patrol and facility operation for daily life safety’, which has a low satisfaction level compared to its importance, needs to be prioritized and improved, and that in the midto long-term, ‘Support and guidance for resident participation in crime prevention activities’, ‘Emergency rescue support in the event of safety accidents, disasters, and calamities’, and ‘Protection work for people in need of social protection such as children, youth, the elderly, women, and the disabled’ need to be improved.

최근 지역사회에서 발생하는 다양한 강력범죄와 안전사고로 인해 주민들의 안전 요구가 증가하면 서 생활안전 분야에서 자치경찰의 역할이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 이에 따라 지역사회에서 발생하는 생 활안전 사무를 유형별로 분석하여 경찰과 지역주민 모두가 만족할 수 있는 치안서비스 제공 방안을 도출하는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 2021년 7월 자치경찰제도 본격 시행 이후 자치경찰 사무 중 생활안전 분야의 중요도 및 성과 만족도를 IPA 분석을 통해 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 자치경찰 생활안전 사무 중 중요도에 비해 만족도가 낮은 ‘생활안전을 위한 순찰 및 시설의 운영’을 우선적으로 집중해서 개선할 필요성이 있으며, 중장기적으로는 ‘주민참여 방범활동의 지원 및 지도’, ‘안전사고 및 재해․재난 시 긴급구조지원’, ‘아동·청소년·노인·여성·장애인 등 사회적 보호 가 필요한 사람에 대한 보호 업무’의 개선이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
