This study aims to highlight euigyeong presented in Korean dance by examining the organic relationship between the concept of Lao-tzu and the dance euigyeong from the perspective of Lao-tzu thought. It has been understood that the elements which compose dance euigyeong are close to jeonggyeong-gyoyung, which belongs to the category of euigyeong. It has been also proved that dance euigyeong based on jeonggyeong-gyoyung is formed through the shape and scenes of dance, as well as the deep feelings and emotion of the audience. Scholars have confirmed that all of these elements of dance euigyeong are established in Lao-tzu’s ‘way of life’ concerning yumu, that is being and not being, and heosil, that is true and false. From the perspective of Lao-tzu, it is clear that today‘s dance euigyeong displays the delicate and metaphysical logic of dance freely through the shape of dance moves and the blankness between the moves of dance. In this respect, the current study contributes to the literature by providing basic materials of dance euigyeong necessary to understand the values and requirements of the aesthetic characteristics of Korean dance.

본 연구는 老莊사상의 관점에서 무용의경(意境)[舞境]과의 유기적 관계를 살펴 한국무용에 드러나는 의경을 조명하고자 한 것이다. 무용의경이 구성되는 요건은 의경 범주에 속하는 정경교융(情景交融)과 관련이 깊다. 정경교융에 입각한 무용의경은 무용의 형상, 장면[景]과 그 춤을 보는 감상자의 깊은 정감과 감정[情]의 결합으로 이루어지는 것으로 파악되었다. 이러한 무용의경의 구성 조건은 모두 노장의 유무(有無), 허실(虛實)의 ‘도(道)’에서 성립되는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 노장의 시각에서 볼 때 오늘날의 무용의경은 춤의 형상과 춤과 춤 사이의 여백 을 통해 자유자재로 넘나드는 춤의 묘경(妙境)[意境]이 드러나는 것으로 확인되었다. 이에 본 연구는 한국무용 예술의 심미 특성적 가치와 요건을 이해하는 데 필요한 무용 의경의 기초적인 자료를 제공했다는 데 의의가 있다.
