This study aims to provide a new level of support for academic exploration and career decision by developing a comprehensive and sophisticated career decision tool for university freshmen, at a time when individual choices and experiences in career decision are more critical than ever. To develop the career decision tool for university freshmen, we conducted a literature review on the concept and components of career decision, established sub-factors, developed preliminary items, and verified content and face validity with experts, followed by construct validity testing (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis). The resulting tool consists of six sub-factors: understanding of oneself and the occupational world (10 items), understanding of majors (4 items), career exploration (5 items), consideration of personal characteristics (4 items), contemplation of career prospects and alternatives (3 items), and career certainty (7 items), totaling 33 items. This study contributes to reducing the uncertainty faced by university freshmen in making career decisions and helps them set a clearer career direction. The developed tool can be utilized as a valuable resource for career decision support programs, counseling services, and policy development.

본 연구는 진로결정에 있어 개인의 선택과 경험이 그 어느 때보다 중요해지고 있는 상황에서 대학 신입생을 위한 종합적이고 정교한 진로결정도 측정 도구를 개발함으로 써 학문적 탐색과 진로 결정에 있어 새로운 차원의 지원을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 대학 신입생용 진로결정도 측정 도구를 개발하기 위해 진로결정도 개념과 구성요소에 대한 문헌 연구, 하위요인 설정 및 예비문항 개발, 전문가 내용타당도 및 안면타당도 검 증, 측정도구의 구인타당도 검증(탐색적, 확인적 요인분석)을 실시하여 최종 문항을 도 출하였다. 그 결과 대학 신입생용 진로결정도 측정도구는 6개의 하위요인으로 구성되 어 있으며, 자신과 직업세계에 대한 이해 10문항, 전공에 대한 이해 4문항, 진로탐색 5 문항, 개인 특성 고려 4문항, 진로전망 및 대안 고려 3문항, 진로확신 7문항으로 총 33 문항을 개발하였다. 본 연구는 대학 신입생들이 진로 결정 과정에서 겪는 불확실성을 줄이고 보다 명확한 진로 방향을 설정할 수 있도록 지원하는 데 기여하며, 개발된 도구 는 진로결정 지원 프로그램, 상담 서비스 및 정책 개발 자원으로 활용될 수 있다.
