This article categorizes the critical perspective shown in the critical text of Yukmidangi, Seo Yoo-young(1801~1876?)'s novel, and examines its meaning. Although Yukmidangi Bubipyeong is one of the main data in the study of criticism of 19th centry and Yukmidangi, the work of deeply appreciating or systematically analyzing the contents was insufficient due to the simplicity of quantity and quality. As a preliminary work for analysis, I verified the best copy of Bubipyeong, and investigated timing of the criticism and the relationship between the reviewer and the author. As a result, it was found that the collection of Sogang University Loyola Library, not the previously used Garambon, showed a higher completion. Also, the period when Bubipyeong was written lasted three years from 1864 to 1867, and that members of Naksan writing group were included among the reviewers. After that, the 15 reviews in the Bubipyeong were categorized into three group: the novelistic interest, recreational techniques, and intellectual competence. First of all, the reviewers paid attention to the novelistic interest of Yukmidangi. In terms of story, they praised the love story of men and women with fantasy, and in terms of the description technique, they made a high reputation in realistic and a verisimilitude figure. Next, the reviewers paid attention to the technique of recreating Korean novels. Their reviews can be divided into two detailed types. First, They evaluated this novel successfully developed the original text. They thought that the defects of the original text, such as cliché, and midwords, were not visible in Yukmidangi. Also, they thought new words and meanings were added to the original text. Second, some reviewers evaluated this novel organically organized the original texts. Yukmidangi is a result of and selecting the independent original texts of the previous generation. Critics saw the method of organization as probable and natural. Finally, the reviewers focused on the author's intellectual competence shown in the novel. Particularly, Yunyuk established his own views on the novel's structure and creative methodology. In addition, he breaks away from the existing critical point of view: finding value from the author's intellectual competence in the novel. Instead, he evaluated such competence can be the base of the novelistic interest.

이 글은 徐有英(1801~1876?)의 한문장편소설 〈六美堂記〉에 부기된 비평 텍스트 〈附批評〉에 나타난 비평적 관점을 유형화하여 분석하고 그 의미를 살핀 것이다. 〈육미당기〉 〈부비평〉은 19세기 소설 비평 및 〈육미당기〉 연구에 있어 주요 자료 중 하나임에도 양과 질의 소략함으로 인해 그 내용을 깊이 음미하거나 체계적으로 분석하는 작업은 미 진했다. 사전작업으로 〈부비평〉의 선본을 검증하는 한편, 비평이 이루어진 시기 및 평자들과 저자의 관계 등을 조사했다. 그 결과 기존에 통용되던 가람본이 아닌 서강대학교 로욜라 도서관 소장본이 보다 높은 완성도를 보인다는 것, 〈부비평〉이 쓰인 시기는 1864년부터 1867년까지 3년에 걸쳐있으며 평자들 중 駱山 詩社 멤버들이 포함되어 있었다는 사실 을 규명할 수 있었다. 이후 본격적인 분석으로 들어가 〈부비평〉에 수록된 15건의 평을 흥미성, 재창작 기법, 지적 역량에 대한 것으로 유형화하였다. 먼저 소설이 주는 흥미성에 주목한 평이다. 평 자들은 〈육미당기〉의 스토리와 서술 기법에 관심을 갖고, 그것이 제공하는 소설로서의 재미에 몰입했다. 이들은 스토리의 측면에서는 환상성이 가미된 남녀의 애정담, 서술 기법의 측면에서는 현실적이고 핍진한 형상화를 높게 평가한 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 〈육미당기〉가 원텍스트인 한글소설들을 재창작한 기법에 주목한 평이다. 이 유형의 평은 다시 두 가지 세부 유형으로 나뉜다. 첫째, 원텍스트를 발전시켰다고 평한 경우이다. 평자들은 원텍스트가 가지고 있던 상투성, 진부함, 중언부언 등의 결함이 〈육미당기〉에서는 보이지 않고, 원텍스트에는 없던 새로운 말과 의미가 더해졌다고 보았다. 둘째, 원텍스트를 유기적으로 조직했다고 평한 경우이다. 〈육미당기〉는 전대의 독립적인 원텍스트들을 취사선택하여 조직화한 소설인데, 평자들은 그 조직화의 방식이 개연성 있 고 자연스럽다고 보았다. 마지막으로 소설에 반영된 저자의 지적 역량에 주목한 평이다. 특히 주목을 요하는 평자는 尹堉이다. 윤육은 소설의 구조 및 창작 방법론에 대한 나름의 견해를 구축하였다. 또한 소설의 흥미성을 경시하면서 소설에 반영된 저자의 지적 역량에서 가치를 찾던 기 존의 비평 경향에서 벗어나, 그러한 역량이 소설의 흥미성에 토대가 된다는 관점을 보여 주고 있다.
