This study is an excerpt from the presenter’s doctoral thesis, A Study on the melodies of strings in the Early 19th and 20th Centuries which was reorganized around 『Bangsan- HanFamilygeumbo』’s ‘sangnyeongsan’, and can be seen as a follow-up paper based on the results of the paper Analysis on the Early 19th Century’s Yanggeum Melodies of “Sangnyeongsan” in Guracheolsageumjabo, Dongdaegeumbo, and Dongdaegayageumbo which studied early 19th century melodies of yanggeum. In the meantime, there are many materials on Yanggeum and Geomgungo through a number of ancient music scores, but in comparison, Gayageum scores are published in the early 20th century 『BangsanHanFamilygeumbo』 Yanggeum, Geomungo, and Gayageum scores, and this study focuses on these parts to compare and analyze the scores. The notation of the ancient music of ‘sangnyeongsan’ recorded on 『Bangsan- HanFamilygeumbo』 was compared and analyzed with each other through the Western music notation of gayageum, lyre, and yanggeum through the western music notation form to find out the melodic progression, song features, and relevance. By comparing the same melody, similar melody, and different melody with gayageum and geomungo, the specific features of the melodies of yanggeum were explained. In this research, we found that there was a close relationship between yanggeum and geomungo, and we could infer that geomungo players played yanggeum more than gayageum players, and that geomungo players worked on the score.

본 논문은 연구자의 박사학위논문 「19ㆍ20세기 초기 영산회상 현악 선율연구」중 『방산한씨금보』의 ‘상령산’을 중심으로 재구성하여 발췌한 논문으로서, 19세기 초기 양금 선율을 연구한 논문의 결과를 토대로 한 후속 논문으로 볼 수 있겠다. 그동안 양금과 거문고는 다수의 고악보 문헌을 통하여 많은 연구가 이루어져 왔으 나 그에 비해 가야금 고악보 연구는 많지 않은 실정이다. 19세기 초 『동대가야금보』 이후 20세기 초까지 『방산한씨금보』가 영산회상을 수록한 유일한 고악보로 추정되며 가야금, 거문고, 양금 세 악기의 선율을 모두 수록한 악보이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 부분에 중점을 두어 악보를 비교․분석하였다. 『방산한씨금보』에 수록되어 있는 ‘상령산’의 가야금, 거문고, 양금에 대한 고악보 표기를 서양 오선보 형태의 역보를 통하여 각 악기의 선율을 서로 비교․분석하여 선 율 진행과 곡의 특징 및 관련성 등을 알아보았다. 양금을 통하여 가야금과 거문고와의 동일 선율, 유사 선율, 상이 선율을 비교함으로써 양금 선율의 구체적인 특징을 설명하였다. 『방산한씨금보』에서는 양금과 거문고의 선율에서 보다 밀접한 관계가 있음을 알아 보았고, 이를 통하여 가야금 주자들 보다 거문고 주자들이 양금 연주를 더 많이 했으 며 거문고 주자들에 의한 악보 작업이 이루어졌음을 추론해 볼 수 있었다.
