This study aims to evaluate the appropriateness of establishing core values by examining the connection between the core values and the content structure of the moral subject curriculum. The 2022 revised moral subject curriculum, similar to the 2015 revised framework, organized its domains based on the value relationship expansion method. Each domain introduces the key ideas, including the core values such as 'sincerity,' 'caring,' 'justice,' and 'responsibility.' However, the core values lack a clear connection with the goals and content structure of the moral subject education, raising issues about their effectiveness in leading to the key ideas, which are the objectives of concept-based inquiry. This study suggests that by addressing these issues and fostering communication with the moral subject education community, a curriculum with improved readability and clarity can be developed and effectively implemented in schools.

본 연구는 도덕과 교육과정의 핵심 가치와 내용 체계, 도덕과 교육 목표 간 연계성을 검토함으로써 도덕과 핵심 가치 설정의 적절성을 분 석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 2022 개정 도덕과 교육과정은 2015 개정 교 육과정의 체계와 같이 가치관계 확장법에 의거하여 영역을 설정하였 다. 그리고 영역별로 핵심 가치를 포함한 핵심 아이디어를 제시하고 있다. 그런데, ‘성실’, ‘배려’, ‘정의’, ‘책임’이라는 핵심 가치는 도덕과 목 표 및 내용 체계와의 연계성이 부족하며 이는 개념 기반 탐구의 목표인 핵심 아이디어로 이끌기 어렵다는 문제를 노정하고 있다. 본 연구 를 통해 핵심 가치 설정 문제에 대한 비판적 인식을 바탕으로 도덕과 교육 공동체와의 소통에 기반하여 가독성과 명료성을 높인 교육과정이 제시되어 학교 현장에 적절하게 적용되기를 기대한다.
