Romance scam refers to a method of accessing online, such as social network services (SNS) and e-mails, expressing favorability, and then gaining trust through wealth and appearance, winning favor and shaking one's mind to obtain financial benefits. In addition to serious financial losses, romance scams are known to have tremendous psychological effects on victims such as depression. Nevertheless, empirical studies such as actual case studies were very scarce, and this study analyzed 10 exchange-type romance scams cases with the participation of victims. As a result, the following patterns were discovered. First, when luring into a one-on-one chat room, communication began with the type of temptation not determined, leading to a sweet romance temptation when the victim responded passively, and when the victim responded passively, it was induced with money temptation, and when the person responded actively. Second, in both temptation strategies, when it was judged that there was no longer funding power, the frequency of communication was significantly reduced and the fraud ended. Third, in the strategy of romance temptation, it caused additional damage by strengthening fascinating grooming or feeling guilty. As a policy implication, the concept of telecommunications financial fraud is expanded and integrated for new fraudulent crimes such as romance scams to enable temporary measures to protect victims, such as suspension of payment, such as voice phishing. In addition, it is necessary to actively collect and analyze scenarios and use them widely for fraud prevention education.

연애빙자 사기인 로맨스 스캠은 사회관계망서비스(SNS) 및 이메일 등 온라인으로 접근하여 호감을표시한뒤 재력, 외모등으로신뢰를형성, 호감을얻고 마음을흔들어 금전적 이익을 취득하는 방법을 말한다. 로맨스 스캠은 심각한 금전적 손실 외에서 피 해자에게 우울증 등 엄청난 심리적 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 그럼에도 불구 하고 실제 사례조사 등 실증적 연구는 매우 부족하였는데 본 연구는 피해자들이 제공 한 10개의 환전형 로맨스 스캠 스크립트를 분석하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 패턴들을 발견하였는데 첫째, 처음 일대일 대화방으로 유인 시 유혹의 종류가 정해지지 않은 상태에서 피해자가 소극적으로 대응을 하는 경우, 자금 유혹으로 유인하고, 적극적 대응을 하는 경우 달콤한 로맨스 유혹으로 이어졌다. 둘째, 두 가지 유혹 전략 모두에서 더 이상 자금력이 없다고 판단되는 경우 소통 빈도가 현저 히 줄어들며 사기가 종료되었다. 셋째, 로맨스 유혹의 전략에서는 매혹적인 그루밍 강 화 또는 죄책감 전가 등으로 추가 피해가 일어나게 하였다. 정책적 시사점으로는 로맨스 스캠과 같은 신종 사기범죄에 대하여도 전기통신금융 사기의 개념을 확대·통합 적용하여 보이스피싱과 같이 지급정지 등 피해자 보호를 위 한 조치들이 가능하게 하여야 한다. 또, 로맨스 스캠 시나리오를 적극적으로 수집 분석 하여 사기 예방 교육에 널리 활용할 필요가 있다.
