To analyze the trend in empirical research on the treatment and recovery of drug addiction, this study conducted a systematic review of the literature published over the past 10 years, between 2014 and 2023. This study used the PICOS method proposed by the Campbell Collaboration to select the literature. The main findings of the systematic review with a total of 46 studies were as follows. First, empirical research on the treatment and recovery of drug addiction averaged 4.6 studies published per year from 2014 to 2023, with the number of published studies increasing significantly by approximately 13 times over the past 10 years. Second, in terms of research methods, qualitative studies accounted for the highest proportion at 29 studies (63.1%), followed by quantitative studies with 14 studies (30.4%) and mixed method studies with 3 studies (6.5%). Regarding the study sample, 27 studies (58.7%) focused on individuals in the process of recovering from drug addiction, while 16 studies (34.7%) focused on drug offenders, showing a higher proportion of studies targeting individuals in recovery. Third, upon examining the research topics, studies on the treatment of drug addiction comprised 14 studies (30.4%), while those on the recovery from drug addiction consisted of 32 studies (69.6%), indicating that the proportion of research related to recovery was more than twice as high. Particularly, 28 studies among the recovery-related studies utilized qualitative research methods to explore the subjective experiences of individuals in the process of recovering from drug addiction. Based on these research findings, this study provided directions for further research aimed at effective treatment and recovery from drug addiction.

본 연구는 마약중독의 치료와 회복에 관한 실증연구의 동향을 분석하기 위하여 2014년부 터 2023년까지 지난 10년간 국내에서 출판된 연구논문에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰을 수행하였 다. 분석문헌의 선택은 Cambell Collaboration이 제시한 PICOS 방법을 활용하였으며, 총 46편의 연구논문에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 마약중독의 치료 와 회복에 관한 실증연구는 2014년부터 2023년까지 연평균 4.6편의 연구가 출판되었으며 최 근 10여 년 사이 약 13배로 출판 논문의 수가 크게 증가하였다. 둘째, 연구방법으로는 질적연 구 29편(63.1%), 양적연구 14편(30.4%), 혼합연구 3편(6.5%)으로 질적연구의 비율이 가장 높았으며, 연구대상은 회복자 27편(58.7%), 마약류사범 16편(34.7%)으로 회복자를 대상으로 한 연구의 비율이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 연구주제를 살펴보면, 마약중독의 치료에 관한 연구 가 14편(30.4%), 회복에 관한 연구가 32편(69.6%)으로 회복관련 연구의 비율이 약 2배 이상 높았으며, 특히 회복관련 연구 중 28편의 연구가 질적연구방법을 활용하여 마약중독자의 회 복경험을 탐색하였다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 마약중독에 대한 효과적인 치료와 회복을 위한 후속연구의 방향성을 제시하였다.
