Darrell Guder emphasizes the shift to missional theology, which calls Christian communities to live as witnesses to the gospel in post-Christendom societies. Because the purpose of missional theology is to help the church faithfully engage in God’s mission (missio Dei), intellectual articulation and awareness of God’s mission are important, but it is equally essentially focused on life and practice. This article examines the relevance of missional theology in the fields of missional hermeneutics and systematic theology. From a missional hermeneutic perspective, Psalm 121 is not just the monologue of a old pilgrim poet but can be a call to Christians living among other faiths to join God‘s mission today. Trinitarianism, which can often be reduced to a philosophical and theoretical discussion, can serve as a compass for understanding the nature of the church and defining its direction in light of God’s mission. By connecting God’s amazing creation to God’s mission, the church today can play a prophetic role in the midst of an climate crisis. The researchers hope that the discussion of missional theology will be revitalized and that the missional nature of the church as the community of the risen Jesus Christ will be restored.

구더(Darrell Guder)는 기독교 공동체가 후기-크리스텐덤 사회에서 복 음의 증인으로서의 삶을 살도록 선교적 신학(Missional Theology)으로의 전환을 역설했다. 선교적 신학의 목적은 교회가 하나님의 선교(missio Dei) 에 신실하게 참여하도록 돕는 것이기 때문에 하나님의 선교에 대한 지적인 표현과 인식도 중요하지만, 그에 못지않게 본질적으로 삶과 실천에 초점을 맞춘다. 본고에서는 선교적 해석학과 조직신학 분야에서 선교적 신학의 적 실성을 타진해 보았다. 선교적 해석학의 관점에서 시편 121편은 옛날 어느 순례 시인의 독백에 그치는 것이 아니라, 오늘날 타종교 가운데 살아가는 기독교인들을 하나님의 선교에 동참하도록 독려하는 말씀이 될 수 있다. 자칫 철학적이고 이론적인 논의에 그칠 수 있는 삼위일체론이 하나님의 선 교 관점에서는 교회의 본질을 이해하고 그것의 방향을 정립할 수 있는 나 침판의 역할을 할 수 있다. 하나님의 놀라운 창조를 하나님의 선교와 연결 한다면, 오늘날 교회는 기후 위기 가운데 예언자적인 역할을 감당할 수 있다. 선교적 신학의 논의가 활발하게 되어, 부활하신 예수 그리스도의 공동 체로서 교회의 선교적(missional) 본질이 회복되기를 소망한다.
